Hermione POV:

I woke up to the sun shining brightly through my window. I wish I had charmed the curtains to block the sun in the morning before I wake up.

I groaned and buried my head in the pillows. I don't have to work because I had gotten a lot of money for my effort in the war, and my parents were wealthy. The point of this is to take a break, read a lot of books, sleep in, but it is never that easy is it?

I guess fate decided it was time to get up, and who am I to argue with fate? Downstairs I realized that I never bought food yesterday, so I guess it is time for a trip to the nearby town.

My parents picked this location specifically because it is secluded, and the town nearby is very small, so we wouldn't be bothered.

I ran back up the stairs to my room to get dressed. I sleep better when it is cold, so I had been sleeping in sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

I pulled on some soft cotton shorts, and was about to change my shirt when I got a horrible pain in my head.

I fell over and my eyesight got fuzzy and warped.

"What the hell is going on?" I thought to myself trying to work past the pain and get to my wand and potions.

It wasn't as bad as Bellatrix's curses, but it was getting there.

It felt like there were a million burning needles pushing into my brain, skull, and eyes. I finally got to my pain relief potion and sighed with relief as it took effect.

Everyone has side effects from getting cursed, and I had plenty from the Cruciatus Curse, but I kept those under control with therapy, potions, and spells. This was new. Everyone gets headaches, but I've never had one this bad.

"Oh, well, if it happens again I will see a healer," I thought to myself while I changed my shirt.

On my way out the door, I put another pain relief potion in my pocket just in case.

~time skip because I can~

I don't really like people, but if I had to be around any, I want it to be these people. They are all polite, but don't make you feel obligated to have small talk. For the most part, everyone goes about their business, occasionally waving and smiling.

There aren't reporters around every corner and hoards of people asking for my autograph. Don't get me wrong, I love that I was a part of something huge and important, and I am glad people have someone to look up to, but I don't want people fawning over me all the time.

I got what I needed from the grocer, went into an alley to apparate, and got another headache, but worse. I collapsed on the ground and it took me a few minutes to be able to get my pain potion out of my pocket.

This time the pain potion didn't work. I need help and I need it now. I decide to apparate, I know I can splinch myself, but this is the only way. I apparate right into St. Mungo's because it is the only place I could think of to go for help.

"Ms. Granger," an alarmed nurse yelled when I collapsed on the ground, "What happened?"

"Terrible headache, pain relief potion won't help, help me please," I said before I passed out.

The darkness is comforting, it is like a blanket of comfort.

Everything is fuzzy, but there is someone here with me. I know the person. They run through the dark and hug me. I know the scent, and I cling to the comfort.

"Hermione?!" the person says still hugging me, "What are you doing here?"

"Fred?" I exclaim, "Why are you here?"

"I have been here since the war," Fred says as we sit down next to each other.

"Wait, aren't you in a coma?" I ask.

"Duh," he says jokingly, "Aren't you supposed to be the brains."

"Haha Fred," I said, bumping his side with my shoulder, "Then why am I here?"

"I knew this would happen at some point," Fred says, "I just didn't know it was you."

"You are making no sense," I tell him, "What would happen?"

"So, when someone's soulmate is unconscious at a different time than the other after a while the other soulmate starts to hurt and eventually they will fall unconscious and join their other half in this realm," he explained, "I was fascinated with soulmates, and since I got here I knew it was only a matter of time before someone else showed up."

"Wait," I demand, "You're my soulmate?"

"Appears so Granger," Fred says, hugging my into his side.

"Okay," I responded, "Are we stuck here?"

"No, now that we are here together, and I hope in the same hospital, we will wake up in a few days," Fred tells me.

"A FEW DAYS?" I yell, "but what will I do, I don't have any books."

"Relax," Fred says laughing, "You don't think I have just been wandering around in darkness for a year, do you?"

"Then what have you been doing this whole time?," I ask.

"Follow me," Fred says, standing up and pulling me up by the waist with him.

I follow Fred, to me everything just looks like darkness, but he seems to turn at certain points and know where to go.

"Okay close your eyes, and don't open them until I say so," Fred instructs.

"Why?" I ask confused.

"It works sort of like Sirius' old place, but I only know and if you open your eyes it will make it difficult for me," he tells me.

"Okay," I answer simply.

After a few moments Fred tells me to open my eyes and I am shocked.

"How do you know about this place?" I ask confused.

"What do you mean," Fred asked just as confused, "This place is what was here when I got here."

"This is my house in Brazil, where I have been living after I moved away from London and your little shit of a brother," I explain looking at the exact replica of my house that only three people have seen.

"I need to ask about my brother later," Fred says laughing, "and this was just here, so I moved in."

"So all of my books are here!" I say excitedly.

"Yes, all of your books are here," Fred says chuckling.

The next few days we didn't really talk much. I stayed mostly in the office and Fred had made himself a workshop attached to the house, so he split his time between the workshop and the office.

We did eat meals together, and I don't think I've ever laughed that hard before. Fred is a surprisingly good cook, and he likes to read as well. I always saw him as one half of the trouble-making duo, but he is really intelligent and I admire that.

We had long discussions about our favorite authors and the themes we like in books. I know that we are soulmates, but I didn't expect us to click.

On the fourth day everything got fuzzy.

"Fred," I screamed from the house, "What is going on?!"

"Hey," he said in a soothing voice, "We are waking up, I'll see you really soon."

"Okay," I said as he slipped away from me, "I'll see you soon."

Here we go, I really hope this wasn't all my imagination.
