ever since y/n was a kid, it was apparent that 'gad' would haunt them for life.

their guardians couldn't do anything about it, doctors also couldn't except dose them up on enough meds to kill a beluga whale.

but let's talk about the condition

gad

generalized anxiety disorder

anxiety

the jitters

what adults who don't care like to call it.

"everyone gets nervous!"

is what y/n said as they, again, got out of having to use the public train to get to work by asking a friend (with much difficulty) to drive them.

as they repeated the phrase like a mantra, it was suddenly interrupted by a dreaded tone of regret and annoyance from their friend.

"y/n, i understand that you have anxiety..."

oh boy here we go. haven't heard this before. totally.

is all y/n thought as they tried not to roll their eyes.

"but i can't keep waking up early on my days off or my night shift days to drive you an hour to Miyagi. i'm sorry and you know i love you but it can't stay like this."

y/n suddenly felt a feeling of remorse and embarrassment overflow them.

"stop overthinking. it's not a problem and id do it everyday, but it just won't work with my schedule."

"are you sure?" y/n asked, an all too familiar phrase to them.

"yes, dear, i am."

y/n huffed a sigh of relief and smoothed out their work uniform as their friend shook their head with a quiet laugh.

this is gonna keep me up at night.
