I stare at myself in the mirror and then look at Christina.
"Do I have to" I groan. She is sitting on the edge of my bed with her backpack settled in her lap.
"Come on Tris they are our friends you gotta tell them. Sooner of later you will be handing them the wedding invitations anyways"I smooth down my sweater and take my backpack from the corner of my room. Christina follow me downstairs and I grab an apple without talking to my mom or anyone else in my family.
Christina gives an awkward look at them and I ignore Caleb's stare.
"Let's go" I tell her and we walk toward the bus stop."Anyways I can't just tell them I'm getting married, let alone had sex" I argue once I seat myself on the bus.
"Lunch. Tell them at lunch maybe they will understand, I did" she says.
"I still can't believe my parents. Especially mom" I shake my head. I've been giving my family the silent treatment although I bet they care. I decided to forgive Christina with the fact that she knew I will be getting married before I did, because Caleb told her not to tell me.
"Do you have gum I'm hungry-" I pause and suck in my breath when the bus stops and the next figure comes on the bus.
Tobias.
Christina's eyes widen and she looks at me. I slide lower into my seat in hopes that he wouldn't notice me.
"I didn't know he uses the bus" I hiss at Christina. She rolls her eyes and sits normally eyeing Tobias as he walks. The last time I saw him was a few days ago in my bedroom. He didn't let my hand go and I was in nerves. I don't want to see him again. But he's in front of me right now.
"Hey tris I didn't know you used the bus I don't see you often here" he says smiling, showing his teeth.
"I don't, temporary" I mumble and Straighten in my seat. No point in hiding now. "This is Christina"
Christina waves at him.
"Hey""Hi" Tobias says bluntly.
"Yea I'm going to go sit on the other seat" Christina says quietly. I try to grab her hands and let her stay but she was already gone to the back of the bus. She might have looked normal but I saw her wink at me.
"So" Tobias says sliding into Christina's seat. "How are you? Been a long time almost like two days!" He says trying to joke.
"Yea I guess"
His eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"You okay?"I don't respond and just stare at my jeans. Slowly I see his hand touching my fingers and I hold my breath.
He squeezes in tenderly and a smile begins to form on his lips. I was still holding my breath, and when he got his fingers to slowly trace my knuckles I let out a deep breath.I couldn't take it anymore and I force my hand out of his hold.
"Don't touch me" I say "I don't like it"His hands go back to where they were before, buried in his pockets.
"Tris did I do something to bother you by any chance?" he says under his breath. My thought were quick to scramble around. He seems so calm its insane. Of Course Im not okay, I feel like each day drawing nearer I'll be this closer to a cage I won't get out off.
"The fact that you sit here and act like nothing is going to happen is frustrating. We were forced to do this so do not act like you love me" I say in a sharp tone. Christina from the corner of my eyes sits there with one earphone in and the other one out, to listen to our conversation.
I lower my voice.
"touching my hand the other day meant nothing"Tobias was silent and kept looking at his hand. He finally looked at me with a serious expression.
"I was trying to make the best out of the situation we have right now. Don't worry I won't bother anymore" he says.
