Louis sat on the counter while Liam was washing the pan that Niall had just finished eating directly out of.
"I can't believe you're letting Niall in the same room as him unsupervised." Louis frowned. "What if Harry eats him?"
Liam laughed and shook his head "You really don't like snakes, do you?" Liam ignored the question at hand, setting the now clean pot in the dish drain. He turned and leaned against the opposite counter, facing Louis.
Louis shrugged. "So what if I don't?" He muttered softly.
"So, you don't know a lot about snakes." Liam said. "You're just going off what you see on tv. They're not as hostile creatures as you think. Mostly they just want to be left alone."
"Whatever." Louis said, shaking his head. "Its not gonna matter. In three days I am sending Harry back." He crossed his arms.
"You're being cruel. And judgey." Liam said, his expression hardening.
"I am not" Louis countered, not able to look at Liam's face. "I wanted someone to cuddle with. I wanted something soft and cute, not something massive and scaly and ugly."
"Harry doesn't look ugly to me." Liam furrowed his brow. "Are you sure we were looking at the same man?"
"I've barely had time to look at him. He freaks me out!" Louis groaned. "Stop trying to make me feel bad."
"I'm not trying to make you feel anything." Liam pushed off the counter and paced over to the door way of the kitchen. "If you're feeling bad about how you're acting, that's all you."
Louis rolled his eyes. In his heart he knew Liam was right but he couldn't help how he was feeling. Harry was just so different than everything he had been expecting.
"They probably sent him to you because he's having a hard time finding a home." Liam murmured, lowering his voice. "That's why Niall was available to foster. People found him to be too much to handle."
"Well, I think I would too." Louis said and let out a weak chuckle. "He's a handful."
"He's been through a lot." Liam didn't share Louis' amusement, "I'm guessing Harry has too. Give him a chance before you just chuck him back into the shelter. Try and get to know him. I'm sure you'll warm up to him eventually."
Louis let out a noise, not feeling so convinced. "Will you come by tomorrow? Check on me?...Make sure I'm not strangled or eaten?"
Liam rolled his eyes. "I will come by tomorrow before work. Niall will probably want to play over here while I'm working anyway." He said, checking his watch. "Speaking of which, its time we head back to ours."
Louis got up and followed Liam to his room to get Niall. They could head Niall talking from the end of the hallway.
"-These two teeth aren't real either but they don't come out." Niall was showing Harry the inside of his mouth. "My last owner cracked me in the mouth with a bat. But I got cool new teeth." He took out three teeth all connected to fit together that could come in and out of his mouth.
"Baby, put your teeth back in your mouth before you lose them or they get dirty." Liam chuckled, glancing at the two hybrids. Niall was cuddled up to Harry, wrapped up in his tail.
"Hi Liam! That's my owner. He's sooooo nice. He gives me belly rubs and he rubs other things too, really good. His dick is so lo-"
"Niall!" Liam scolded, walking over and pulling Niall from the pile of tail he was wrapped in. Liam's face was beet red. "Not appropriate." Niall just giggled in response and put his fake teeth back in the side of his mouth.
