you sigh slightly,
why couldn't you just drink some and leave some?
they had just informed you on how harry and ginny had hidden the book away, never to be found again.
harry smiles slightly.
"well. how do you feel?" hermione questions.
"excellent. really excellent" harry smiles broadly.
you all stand up.
"remember.. slughorn usually eats early.. takes a walk, and then returns to his office"
"right. i'm going down to hagrid's"
"what?" you question.
"no, harry, you've got to go speak to slughorn"
harry turns around.
"we have a plan"
"i know, but.. i've got a really good feeling about hagrids. i feel it's-it's the place to be tonight. do you know what i mean?"
you all look at him in confusion, "no"
"well, trust me, i know what i'm doing. or.. felix does"
he walks off, "hi!" he says cheerily as he walks out the door, passing some people.

YOU SIT ON THE SILL, LOOKING UP AT THE SKY.
in what felt like seconds, it turned a murky and ominous brown.
an unsettling feeling fills your stomach. ron and hermione were off somewhere and you were sat alone.
"go to your houses. no dawdling"
you look over to mcgonagall, standing up and walking over to her.
"what's happening, professor?" you question blankly, staring up at the sky.
she purses her lips, glancing at you.
"nothing good, i'm sure" you sigh, she nods grimly, "please go back to your common room.."
you nod, sending a final glance up to the sky before walking off and down towards slytherin common room.
you were on your way there when you bumped into hermione and ron, they both looked oddly worried.
you look between them, "you can feel it too, can't you?"
they nod, "come, i think something's happened" hermione says.
you nod, following after her with ron also trailing behind.
you all walk into the courtyard where everyone was gathered, pushing to the front, you just stare.
dumbledore was lying on the ground. dead.
just how many people have you seen dead these past couple of years?
harry soon pushes through, crouching in front of dumbledore.
ginny walks forward, hugging him.
you just stare blankly.
mcgonagall raises her wand, letting the tip of it light up.
you all look up as the death eater mark shows itself in the sky.
and soon, everyone was raising their wands. looking down from above, it would almost look like a concert.
you knew everything had changed long ago. but now, everything had really changed. with dumbledore gone, a new headmaster was needed. and with dumbledore gone, the death eaters pretty much had free reign.

"DO YOU THINK HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT? DRACO?"
hermione questions.
you look out onto the black lake.
"no"
you glance at harry.
"no, he was lowering his wand. in the end, it was snape. it was always snape. and i did nothing"
you look at the necklace harry put into hermione's hand.
"it's fake. open it"
hermione opens the necklace. inside, was a small, folded up letter.
" 'to the dark lord. i know i will be dead long before you read this but i want you to know that it was i who discovered your secret. i have stolen the real horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as i can. i face death in the hope that when you meet your match, you will be mortal once more. r.a.b.' r.a.b."
"don't know" harry shakes his head.
"but whoever they are, they have the real horcrux. which means it was all a waste. all of it"
you purse your lips.
"ron's okay with it, you know. you and ginny"
you look back out to the lake.
"but if i were you, when he's around, i'd keep the snogging to a minimum" she whisper jokes.
"i'm not coming back, hermione. i've got to finish whatever dumbledore started. and.. i don't know where that'll lead me.. but i'll let you both and ron know where i am when i can"
you raise an eyebrow, letting out a loud laugh.
"wow, harry. i knew you were thick, but i didn't think you were this bad"
he raises an eyebrow in confusion.
"you really think we're going to let you go out and do this all on your own? no offense, but i don't think you can do this all on your own"
"you need us, harry" hermione says.
you breathe out slowly.
"i never realized how beautiful this place was"
you all look up aw fawkes flies overhead and off into the valley.
