The Lost Soul

4. It... attacked me

Chapter cover is the appearance of Victorias mother, Penelope Aurelius.

"Help!" There was a scream in the distance, it sounded like Asuka, Victoria ran towards the sound, she jumped over many rocks and dodged many tree branches.

"Please! Someone!" There it was again, it sounded like it came from next to Victoria. A droplet of something red fell onto the nose of Victoria, She looked up and saw a bleeding Asuka, she was on a tree branch, gripping onto it, she looked as if she was about to let go and fall, she was fairly high up. Before Victoria could do anything Asuka let go, her grip had been loosening this entire time. She fell to the ground, right in front of  Victoria, she had a large wound on her stomach, a cut. someone had slashed her stomach. 

"A-Asuka? What happened, you're bleeding." Victoria started to cry, her only friend was perishing before her eyes. 

"Victoria, it... attacked me, the.. thing that got her.." Asuka was barely breathing, she was bleeding out and on verge of death.

"Thalia? The cloaked figure? was that it? Asuka!" Victoria was breaking down into tears at this point, she could not maintain her emotions, but thats when it caught her eye, Asukas pupils were gone.. that could only mean one thing. It was the cloaked figure. 

"Dont... die.. save.." Asuka stopped talking, she could not move either, the wound was deep and it was perfectly cut meaning there was a low possibility of her survival now. 

"Asuka! Oh god, oh my god." Victoria cried.

Asuka did not answer, she was not moving at all. her body was starting to turn into dust, is this what happens when you die here? Before Victoria could do anything else, she started to cough, looking behind her she saw the shimmer of a scythe, he was here.

"This is only the start, Victoria Primula." The figure said.

"Who.. What are you?!" Shouted Victoria.

"You can call me The soul eater." It replied with a deep raspy and eerie voice.

Victoria pulled out her sword, while crying she swung it blindly at the Soul Eater, it went right through. it had no effect. it was useless. Victoria fell over, she was about to pass out when the creature said something to her.

"Dont worry, Soon your soul will join the others." 

Victoria had passed out due to exhaustion. A few hours passed until she awoke, once she did she immediately looked for Asuka, she was no where to be seen. She screamed, no words, just screamed. She grabbed her backpack and looked at her mirror, Victorias soul had lost yet another quarter, she needed to be quicker, but she couldn't, Asuka just died. She had known Asuka since the 7th grade. She is now in the 11th grade, losing Asuka hurt badly. Victoria slapped herself.
"Get up, i need to save Thalia, maybe i can save Asuka aswell." She said to herself.

Victoria stood up, her hair was now dirty and messy. she had a sharp pain coming from her arm, when she checked it there was something carved into it, the word 'Mortem' was it the soul eater? it was bleeding so she checked her backpack, luckily she had packed a bandage, this was definitely going to scar. Victoria patched herself up and stood up once again, this time she was prepared, she was prepared to find Thalia, or so she thought. She picked up her sword and started walking, she was walking towards a bright beacon in the distance which she had just spotted. Victoria was hoping she would have an idea how to find Thalia there. 

Before she knew it, Victoria was tossed into a tree, she could barely see, she was dizzy and her head hurt. She jumped up as soon as she felt a little better, she saw what tossed her into the tree, it was Thalia herself.

"T-Thalia? Is that you? Why.. why did you hurt me?" Victoria started tearing up yet again, could this really be Thalia? 

It didn't respond, instead it ran towards Victoria, Victoria pushed it to the ground. holding a sword against "Thalias" Throat.

"I said, Thalia, is that you?" Victoria looked angry now, not crying. this isnt Thalia, but that means she will have to kill someone which looks like Thalia. Victoria, without remorse, cut the throat of this Thalia lookalike, it did not die, instead of dying its "skin" peeled off, revealing the true body of this thing, it had no face, it looked like a mannequin. It was.. "The Mimic." The creature pushed Victoria away, she fell onto the ground. The Mimic then ran away into the forest. 

"What the actual fuck." Victoria thought to herself. she was shocked, she just killed Thalia, except it wasn't really Thalia. She was more stunned due to the fact she did it so easily. she killed Thalia like it was nothing. Victoria grabbed her mirror and looked at her pupils again, she noticed a quarter of her pupil fading, slowly. very.. very.. slowly. she only had half a pupil on each eye now, If a pupil represents a soul, that meant Victoria had lost half her soul. A few minutes later Victoria approached a building, the one the beacon came from. She had finally arrived, Victoria opened the door and found a bright white orb. She picked it up and put it in her backpack, she could hear whispers coming from the orb, what was it? Was it a soul? All she knew, is that she needed to find Thalia, the real one, and destroy the Soul Eater.. Victoria zipped up her bag and continued walking, this time.. she didnt know where she was going, she was just walking, hoping, hoping she would find Thalia.

Hey! short chapter, i know. this is just because alot has happened this chapter, its late and i want to sleep ahah- keep in mind this is not supposed to be long. it will be only a few more chapters, but i will have another book. with alot more information and some flashbacks regarding the relationship between the two girls.
