6. Soulless

Character on cover is Lucas (not saying last name it spoiler) *wink wink*

Victoria has now drifted off to sleep, except she did not necessarily have a dream nor a nightmare, yet. It was her first sleep in days and she really needed it.

Victoria opened her eyes and appeared in a dark room, pitch black and without scent, She looked around frantically wondering where she was, was she in hell? No, she was already in hell. What is this place? She could hear faint whispers, Victoria could not tell what they were saying except that they were getting louder by the moment. Black smoke appeared behind her, it did not effect Victoria at all, she did not cough nor close her eyes, she just stared. The smoke covered the tiny amount she could see, it was now fully pitch black. The whispers stopped, they went silent. What happened to them? Suddenly the smoke disappeared as-well, revealing the Soul Eater standing in front of Victoria, Victoria fell back, tripping over and falling onto her back. She was afraid, the atmosphere only made it worse, it was hard for her to breathe as she was hyperventilating. Just where exactly was she? was this a dream? or was it real?

The soul eater stood there, he dropped its weapon and the whispers grew louder, once he had dropped the scythe the cloak covering the view of the soul eater disintegrated, revealing a man who looked as if he was in his late 20's, he was crying, there was tears dropping from his eyes, yet just like his victims, he had no pupils.

"Help.. me." The man said, after that he picked his scythe back up from the ground, his cloak appeared to be back on his body, covering his appearance.

"You will not be able to revive her, Victoria Aurelius, the cost is something you cannot come back from." The man was now back to being the soul eater, he laughed after saying that, an evil laugh. Victoria was confused, what had just happened? There was many questions in which she wanted to ask..

"Wake up, Hey? are you okay? Wake up!" A soft voice was heard by Victoria, it sounded like a man. Victoria stood up and she was suddenly back in Mortem again, was it all a dream?

"oh thank god you aren't dead, right?" The voice said.

"Wh.. who are you?" Victoria asked, the person she was speaking only looked around 15 or 16, he had fairly long hair, the back was yellowy white and the top was all brown, he was wearing an orange shirt and had a few ear piercings, He looked familiar but at the same time he looked like a stranger.

"Um, i am Lucas Primula. Aren't you Thalias friend? Victoria?" Said the man, This was Thalias brother, what was he doing here? Thalia must have not yet told her family about her sexuality yet, Victoria was much more then just a "friend."

"Lucas? What the hell are you doing here?" Victoria at this point was beyond confused. "you shouldn't be here."

"To be honest, i dont know. After Thalias death i tried to found out more and well... i was led here." Lucas explained. "We might as well stick together now.. right?"

Lucas was a caring person, he treated Victoria like a sibling. Victoria was shocked that Lucas, out of the seven billion people on earth Lucas was here, though it was not a bad thing.

"Sure Lucas, we can stick together. How long have you been here?" She asked.

"About.. um.. i don't know, since Thalias death. Around then." Lucas answered.

Victorias eyes widened, he had been here for months. Victoria was shocked, the reason his parents shop was never open was probably because they were heartbroken, their son and daughter had disappeared after all.

"Wait holy shit, Victoria? Your pupils, what the hell?" Lucas was concerned for Victoria.

Victoria ran to her bag at the tree and pulled out her mirror, she looked into the mirror to see if her pupils were there, her final quarter was fading. Victoria was about to become Soulless. She started hyperventilating again, Lucas ran over to her and attempted to calm her down, Victoria wanted to cry, but she couldn't. No tears would escape her eyes. She was deathly afraid.

"Hey, dont worry im sure you will be okay, yeah? You are here to find Thalia, no?" Lucas asked, Victoria nodded. "We can find her, im sure of it okay? i have sort of an idea where she could be."

Victoria stopped hyperventilating, she calmed herself down and looked Lucas in the eyes.

"where?" Victoria said.

Lucas points a certain direction, it was in the middle of the forest. Victoria had barely made it out last time, why would she want to go back?

"In there.. again?" Victoria sighed, though she would do anything for Thalia, and so she stood up, ready to go on her journey through the forest again.

Victoria took a few steps forward before collapsing onto the ground, she couldn't breathe, she was about to die, though she was not scared nor sad. Victoria simply laid there staring at the sky, the dead grey sky. Lucas was shaking Victoria, yelling at her, she would not respond. Lucas had only just reunited with Victoria as-well, is this the end of the road for her?

Lucas started to cry, he cannot let her die again. He checked her bag and found a bright white orb, almost blinding considering the normal light in Mortem.

"what the fuck is this?" He said.

Victoria appeared yet again in a pitch black room, this time there was no whispers, there was the soul eater, standing in front of Victoria again, with his cloak on.

"I died, didn't i?" Victoria asked.

"No, not yet. i am not finished with you." The soul eater answered.

"What.. are you talking about?" Victoria said.

"Why would you find a 'way to travel to mortem' online?" Soul eater chuckled, Victoria was angered, she was led here. Was Thalia even here?

Victoria stood up and charged at The soul eater. She ran right through him, like he was a ghost. She turned around and charged back, this time she jumped and gripped onto his scythe, she pulled it from The soul eaters hands and went flying back, as did the scythe. Once the scythe was out of his hands the Soul eaters cloak disappeared. Revealing a different person this time, this time is was Thalia, was it showing souls that he had taken in the past?

"Victoria? is that really you?" The soul eaters voice had changed, it now sounded and looked exactly like Thalia.

"Thalia?" Victorias eyes widened. Could this really be Thalia?

"Victoria why are you in Mortem? You are going to die." Thalia said. "And what the hell happened to your eyes."

"im... im here for you, Thalia." Victoria cried, ignoring the second question. She was not ready to tell Thalia

"Victoria, i'm dead. i do not know how you are speaking to me but i cant be brought back." Thalia explained.

Victoria ignored what she said, this meant perhaps, if this really was Thalia, she has hope...

"Victoria get up, C'mon you cant die here!" Lucas cried, Victoria started breathing again, she sat up quickly and took a huge breath. She was alive, but at what cost? Victoria ran over to her bag and looked at her mirror, she did not have any pupils anymore, she was soulless.

"Wh..what am i doing here, wheres Thalia?" Victoria asked.

"Victoria, what do you mean? You know why we are here." Lukas responded, he sounded confused.

Victoria stood up, she had lost memories, she had lost emotions, all she could remember now, was that she needed to find the soul of Thalia Primula..
