Chapter 1

It was a typical Wednesday night on Midas. The city that never sleeps. In the VIP room of the sweet delusion, one of the high-ranked bars in area three, the overseer of the black market was busy sealing one last deal for the day.

Katze elegantly dressed in his finest black suit, rested his leg on the other while smiling at his client.
His client, Mr. Williams, was an old buyer from the neighbor planetary system. The type of man who wrote checks with a generous amount of zeros on them without breaking a sweat.

He had short silver hair that matched his beard which was neatly cut. A pair of smart glasses was installed around his eyes and he switched them on and off his eyes whenever he wished for.

"I must say it's always a pleasure to do business with Amoi!" Williams said in a cheerful tone while sipping on his expensive golden drink. "You never cease to amaze me in both product quality and your hospitality Katze."
Katze put on his most charming business smile, "Please, the pleasure is all ours! To have a great man like yourself choose us is an honor."

William laughed and handed the signed contract to his only subordinate that was present inside the room, "Sir mink is a smart man. He picked the best to run his black market." He leaned in slightly and in a theatrical way whispered, "If it were anyone else, I'd pick elsewhere to get the products I want!"

Katze continued to smile, "It's very kind of you to say. But I'm simply doing my best."
"I admire your hard work. You deserve a raise, my friend! And to think you've come to understand my taste better and better throughout the years," he looked at the delicate young pet that was kneeling beside him and stroked her light-pink hair.

And then he eyed the young man in the black leather pants and jacket who was standing against the wall, not so farther than them, "Even though some of them are unachievable!"

"He is one of my trusted underlings. Unfortunately, he is not for play Mr. Williams." Katze informed him in the politest tone.
Williams's lips widen in a grin, "I see, what a pity. But I have to say you picked the best partner for yourself Katze!"

Katze didn't bother to correct him nor did he care about the slow groans that escaped Riki's mouth after that comment.

Williams then turned his hungry gaze back at Riki, "It's lovely to meet you, young boy. Never seen a beautiful soul other than our overseer himself around the black market before!"

Riki's emotion didn't change and with an almost poker face replied, "Sure, same mister."
The rest of the meeting went on with the dealers speaking about political and economical matters.
The pet played a little role in the middle of all the business talking. But Williams decided to keep the rest of that show for a Private room. For just the two of them.

In the end, the businessman got up around midnight, "As much as I want to continue this convention, I must leave. Tomorrow morning I'm heading back to our planet so I have to sleep soon." He had a meaningful smile on his face. With the leash of the pet in one hand, he aimed the other at his subordinate. The guy handed him a fancy-looking envelope.

"This long-term deal of us has brought many profits to me. So to show you my appreciation, I've got you this." He held the envelope at Katze. Riki was getting a bit curious and was eyeing them from the corner of his eye.

Katze took the envelope, the words 'Infinity circus' was written on it in gold. There were bold designs in rose gold color, beautifully decorated the edges.
"You didn't have to do this. As I said, I'm simply doing my job. Please, I can't accept such gift." He tried to return it when Williams stopped him.
