Chapter 1

Felix Pov :

I hummed a tune casually while walking towards His Majesty's office with a cup of tea, since there weren't any other servant who could roam around freely in the emperor's palace.

I stood before the door and peeked inside to see him doing a pile of paperwork with a tired face.

'His long and pale fingers holding a pen as it glided over the paper, his chest which weren't covered properly because of his scantily way of dressing, his sharp jawline, his lips which had a hint of pink and red, his straight and long nose, long bonde lashes covering his jewel eyes which was focusing on the paper, his straight short hair which sparkled like gold.'

Oh, He was truly a blessing upon this Empire.

"The tea is going to spill." His Majesty's serene voice interepted my trail of thoughts, as i realised what i was doing.

"Y-your Majesty." I stuttered slightly as i placed the tea on the workdesk.

"You should knock instead of standing there, Felix. " He said, making me blush a little as embarrassment washed over me.

His Majesty continued his work as he sipped on the tea occasionally. I took a seat at the sofa, helping him arrange the finished documents carefully.

After a few minutes, he gave me the papers as it was the last group of documents.

"It is a lovely day, your majesty. Why don't you take a stroll in the garden as your work has been completed?" I asked while looking out the window.

He stood up walking outside as i quickly followed to catch up.

While walking through the back garden, I sensed soft footsteps, which made me frown since no one was supposed to be here at this hour.

"Felix" His Majesty also noticed the footsteps that is too soft for a person.

We arrived, following the sound and i was stunned as i saw a child standing infront a statue.

"What is this bug doing in my palace?" His majesty said as the little girl turned around, but wait, a bug? Really?

Something dropped on the floor as she turned around... trinkets and jewels? No one in this palace can own this much jewels except for the princess, right?

Wait a minute, those jewel eyes!

"That face, I've seen it before. Was it that dancer from Siodonna? You look like her" He said as realisation hit me like a truck.

"Then again, it doesn't really matter. " he spoke while looking down at her. "Your Majesty-" I tried intervening.

He continued speaking regardless.

"I think i remember your name."

She is the princess of this empire.

"Athanasia was it? Back then, you were tiny." He is talking about the day of the massacre, the day he killed all the concubines living in the ruby palace.

It was also the day when the princess's mother died while labor and the day where i was almost in my death bed.

He only stopped in his path to kill her because of the name that Madam Diana gave her.

Athanasia, Meaning Deathlessness.

A Name related to immortality can only be permitted to the official heir of the throne by the emperor.

It was shocking that he spared her.

Till today i don't know why he did it since i was severely injured back then.

He also refused to tell. He completely blocked anything regarding ruby palace to me and others since.

"You've grown a lot. " Ofcourse, it's been five years afterall.

' Clank '

Something fell down.

"..."

It was another bag of trinkets, just how many are there? (●__●)

To my surprise, he lifted her up. "You're heavy. " I was in the middle of processing the words he uttered when.

"You have really chubby cheeks but i didn't expect you to be this heavy."(?)

"Your majesty? Are you serious? "

She was also in disbelief.

"Felix, what do you think she's doing here in my palace?" There he goes again, completely ignoring what i said.

"I think she got lost during play time, Your majesty. " I said in response.

He looked at the statue where she was standing previously...a bite mark? She was biting the statue?

I looked at the princess as she looked back nervously.

I giggled silently as i thought i should help her.

'She is really cute, I can't resist.'

"Maybe she thought it was a toy?"

That's most likely what happened anyways.

"As you said, she must've wandered off."

" Carry her. "

I hurriedly catched the princess as he tossed her to me like she was a bag of lettuce.

"You seem to like her? Then I suppose I should have some tea with my guest."

Huh? What's even going on?
