Allie dragged her friend down to the mall a couple of weeks later, and although she wasn't very enthusiastic, Robyn was persuaded to pick out some basics for her pregnancy wardrobe. Allie tried to draw her out and get her to talk, but all she could really get out of Robyn was that she hated how her body was changing and it was only going to get worse. At home Jeremy tried to take Allie's advice and just be there for his wife. Things seemed a little better, but when she snapped at Jeremy at Sunday breakfast a few weeks later, Allie caught his eye and was worried.

By the time she was twenty-five weeks Max, Daniel and Allie were all concerned Robyn was not herself at all. One morning having coffee in Max's room he said, "With any luck she'll have the kid a few weeks early and we'll all be able to breathe again." Daniel laughed and Allie playfully punched Max, "Don't be mean. She can't help it, it must be hormones. She's not normally like this." Max grinned at Allie, "Even Carly's scared."

Allie woke up the day after that conversation feeling a bit sickly and with a dull pain in the middle of her stomach. Daniel was lying next to her still peacefully sleeping, and even though she really wanted to reach out and run her hand through his hair left messy by the night in bed she didn't disturb him. She crept into the bathroom and before she could brush her teeth she was overcome with nausea and she vomited into the toilet bowl. She put the lid down and flushed, sitting on the floor for a couple of minutes feeling dizzy. Daniel had heard her and knocked the door saying, "Allie, are you okay?" She called back "Yeah, I'm fine now, be out in a second." She brushed her teeth and opened the door. Dan was sitting on the bed and she came and sat next to him. He swung her legs up and across so she could lie on his chest "I've either got a bug or eaten something that disagreed with me. Just woke up with it, but I actually feel better now I've thrown up." He pushed her hair back from her face and said "You feel a little hot Allie. Why don't you stay home today?" Allie sat up and kissed his cheek, "I think I'm fine now. I'll get a shower and I'm sure I'll be okay."

Daniel got the children breakfast, and Allie did seem fine to him when she reappeared showered and dressed for work. She washed and dressed Rose and Emmie, and left to drop Rose off at day care while Daniel took Emmie to school. They were back together for the partner meeting at nine and Daniel came to take her to get coffee before they headed over to the boardroom. He came into the office and she got up to meet him as he captured her 'round the waist, "How you feeling?" he said scanning her face. "I'm fine, honestly. Just going to eat plain stuff today. Let whatever it is run its course, but I don't feel sick or anything now. Just got a bit of a stomach ache, nothing to stop me working though. Let's get a coffee, that'll sort me out." Daniel relaxed and kissed her as she allowed herself a second to relax into his chest and breathe him in.

Late in the morning she swallowed a couple of Tylenol as the nagging stomach pain had become a little stronger, but once they'd taken effect the pain dulled a little until the end of the day. She took another couple before she left and Daniel collected the girls from Holly so she could go home and start dinner. She woke in the early hours with the pain now stabbing painfully to the lower right of her stomach, so she got up and took some more painkillers. She dozed a little but the pain only eased slightly and when Daniel woke she was already up, sorting breakfast downstairs.

They drove to the girls' drop-offs and the office together and Allie didn't mention the pain, not wanting Daniel to worry, but by lunchtime she felt really ill and couldn't stand it. Crossing the office to Daniel she went in and said, "Dan, would you mind taking me home? I've still got this nagging stomach ache and I think I just need to go to bed until it goes. Daniel had come from behind his desk and looped his arms around her with concern, "God Allie you look really sick. I think we need to get you a doctor's appointment." Allie began to protest they would just say it was a bug and to give it seven days, so Daniel had an idea, "Okay, how about I ask Jeremy to have a quick look and tell us if you need a doctor visit or not?" She looked as if she was going to protest but Daniel pulled out his ace card, "Allie sweetheart, please, for me, I'm worried." She nodded and Daniel kissed her and said "Go get your stuff and I'll just give him a quick call. Meet you in reception."
