Susan collected Margie and they both arrived at the hospital around nine thirty. Allie was awake and tried to reassure them she was okay, but the dark shadows under her eyes and slightly grey pallor said otherwise. Daniel left them with her while he went to the cafeteria to grab them some coffees. They stayed an hour and while someone came in to take some blood from Allie, he walked them out to the car. They both held him tight before they left, and he told them what had happened with Robyn. Margie nodded her head, "Max rang me earlier. He's really mad with Robyn for adding to your stress, but I told him she's sick too and he'd better not say anything if he speaks to her or Jeremy, or he'll have me to deal with. Hopefully Jeremy can get her some help and things get better once the baby comes." Daniel couldn't help but smile, "He's just worried about Allie, don't be too hard on him Margie." She looked at Susan, "Yeah, he hates any of us being sick and this has really rattled him, especially because she looks so sick. I'll call him now, but he said he's coming over as soon as he can." Susan nodded "Yeah, it's upset me seeing her like that to be honest." Daniel kissed them both looking miserable, "Jeremy and the guy who did the surgery reckon as soon as the antibiotics kick in she'll get over this pretty quickly, so hopefully we'll get her feeling better in the next couple of days. I'll grab a drink and get back into her."

When he got back Tom was there, and he seemed happy she was at least no worse and said he'd be back later. Allie slept a lot and didn't even realise Max had returned and John had called in. He said he was on a job nearby and was visibly shocked when he saw her. He had to go back to work, but he hugged Daniel and told him he'd be back the following day with Susan. Jeremy came in briefly, glancing at Allie's chart and quietly told Daniel and Max, "Just wanted to let you know I've got Robyn a couple of emergency appointments and then I'm taking her home. Call me if you need me okay? Tom says he's happy she's stabilised." Daniel gave him a quick embrace, nodded and let him go. Allie woke around four, smiling to see them and trying to sit up a little she said, "I think I actually feel a bit better." Daniel raised the top of the bed a little and lifted her gently under the arms to make her more comfortable. He was able to hold her properly, and she let herself enjoy a proper hug from both of them before Max let her lean back on the pillows. Daniel got her a drink of water and when he put it down she broke out into a smile, "Okay, I definitely don't feel quite as bad and I'm not just saying it."

Tom came back in just after five, still in scrubs, and looked pleased to hear she felt better, "Your blood work is definitely a big improvement, so I think those antibiotics are kicking in now. You'll need to stay with us and on those through the IV for another five days or so, but just enjoy the rest." She nodded, still too sick to protest much and thanked him. He added "Give it four to six weeks and you'll be back at work as good as new." Max piped up dryly, "Music to my ears" and Allie laughed, "My boss is just here to work out when his workforce is back. Really Tom, thank you. I'll try and be a good patient. Ignore anything Jeremy will tell you about me moaning to go home." He laughed and patted her shoulder, "Get some rest and I'll be back in later tonight."

On the other side of the hospital, Jeremy had taken Robyn to see Mary her OBGYN who'd squeezed them into her clinic. Jeremy gave her a brief overview of his perspective and then she turned to Robyn, "Is that how you see things Robyn?" She nodded tearfully, "Actually he's holding back, being kind. I think I've been a nightmare. Little things that wouldn't normally bother me make me mad all the time, and with people I wouldn't normally be mad at. It started with just hating how my body felt, just big and uncomfortable and I knew I had months and months and it would only get worse. But yesterday, my best friend got really sick and had surgery here, and by this morning I'd convinced myself she'd kind of done it to ruin things for me, take Jeremy's attention away." She started to sob and Jeremy grabbed her hand, "I know that's terrible and stupid and really self-centred, and I came here before work to scream at her. It was only when I saw her in her room, so sick she didn't even know I was there that I came to my senses. I feel like I'm going nuts." Jeremy got up and crouched down by her chair and held her until she'd calmed down and Mary passed over a box of Kleenex. "Robyn I think Jeremy may be right about the pre-natal depression, and I have a colleague who specialises in all mood disorders relating to pregnancy and birth. Let me just go and make a call and see if she can fit you in today. Usually she can give you strategies for coping and because these disorders are often underpinned by hormones they generally go away once the body recovers."
