It had been two weeks since we left for our honeymoon, and today was the day we'd return to our lives. While I was excited to go back—don't get me wrong, I cherished the precious time alone with Carlisle—I missed everyone, especially Jasper, whose heartbroken expression lingered in my mind as we departed.
As I packed up my clothes, I felt strong arms wrap around my waist. I smiled and turned to see my husband. "Are you all finished packing, love?" he asked.
"Yep, all set," I replied. He nodded, pressing a tender kiss to my lips before stepping away to grab our suitcase. "If we're going to make it back on time," he said, making his way towards the door.
I started to follow him but paused, taking a moment to look back at our honeymoon hideaway. A warm smile spread across my face as I soaked in the memories we'd created together before finally shutting the door behind me. As I turned, I found Carlisle standing there, patiently waiting, his smile radiating the love I had come to adore.
He opened his arms wide, and I rushed into them, hugging him tightly. He kissed the top of my forehead, and together we boarded the boat, officially leaving the island behind.
Hours Later
When we finally touched down, a wave of gratitude washed over me. My feet had barely hit the tarmac before I was dashing off the plane, arms raised in triumph as I spun around, grinning from ear to ear. Laughter bubbled from behind me, and I turned to see Carlisle gazing at me with that familiar warmth and love in his eyes. It made my heart flutter.
"Let's go home," he said before strolling over to take my hand. He led me to the car, opening the passenger door for me with a flourish before hurrying to the driver's side. With his hand firmly in mine, we pulled out of the parking lot, excitement buzzing in the air.
Two Hours Later
We finally reached home, too exhilarated to wait for him to stop. I hopped out of the car and bolted into the house. "Hello? I'm home! Esme? Rose? Emmett? Jasper? Alice? Edward? Anyone?" Just then, I felt a gust of wind rush through the house before something collided with me, lifting me off the ground.
"Welcome back, Mom!" Emmett boomed, grinning. I laughed at his unexpected strength. "Alright, Emmett, my boy, put me down!" I exclaimed. Once I was back on my feet, I looked around to see everyone gathered, and I made my rounds, giving heartfelt hugs. I made sure to save Jasper for last, wanting to cherish our moment together.
As I pulled away from Alice, Jasper sprinted over to me, wrapping me tightly in his arms and burying his face in my neck, taking a deep, comforting breath. "Welcome back, Mom," he said, a bright smile lighting his face.
"Thanks, sweetie. I missed you," I replied, placing my hand on his cheek, gazing at him with a mother's love.
"I missed you too, Mom. It was too quiet here without you," he said, prompting laughter from everyone around us.
Suddenly, I heard a familiar cough behind me and turned to see Carlisle, wearing a stern expression. "I know you missed everyone, but that doesn't mean you should abandon a moving car," he said, closing the distance between us. He pulled me into his arms and kissed me passionately before releasing me so he could greet the others.
Once things settled down, the family decided to go hunting together. We sped through the woods, laughter echoing around us as we enjoyed the hunt. As the boys went off to track their prey, the girls stayed behind to chat.
"So, how was the honeymoon?" Esme asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"It was perfect; I couldn't have imagined it better," I replied, grinning brightly. The girls squealed in delight.
"So, how was the sex?" Rose probed, and if I could blush, I definitely would have. "It... was... amazing. I wasn't expecting him to be so big—he really brought me to new heights." The girls erupted into laughter, their excitement contagious. "I think we had more sex than we did exploring," I added, chuckling at the memory.
Just then, we heard the boys returning with dinner, as the men insisted on doing all the work. "So, break anything while you were gone?" Emmett teased, smirking at me.
"Oh, absolutely! The entire house is wrecked inside. Your father really knows how to make an impact," I replied, laughter bubbling up once more. Emmett looked briefly shocked, then grinned. "Right on!" he laughed, and soon everyone joined in.
After indulging in a hearty meal, we returned home, relaxing in the living room together while we cuddled up to watch a movie. As the night wore on, I darted upstairs to our bedroom, seeing our suitcases still unpacked. I began to tidy up when I heard the door open. Glancing sideways, I saw my loving husband enter.
He made his way over, placing gentle kisses along my neck while his hands slid down my body.
"What are you doing?" I asked, feigning innocence.
"What? Can't I appreciate my wife's body? Besides, you look absolutely stunning in that outfit," he replied.
In an instant, clothes were flying, leaving us lost in a night of passion that promised to be unforgettable.
And that's a wrap for the pre-Twilight portion of the story! I'm excited to delve into the actual Twilight saga, but rest assured, there will be plenty more moments featuring Carlisle and Sam!
