The new house I moved to is wonderful. We now live in Kansas, and it is beautiful here. We have farmland near our house, and our neighbors are really nice. The day we moved here they helped unload the truck and introduced themselves and gave us a smoothie. I even made a friend with a girl my age, 12, named Alice. Her long, curly brown hair blows in the wind and it is really pretty, sometimes I get jealous. My short red hair makes me look so young, while she looks grown up. Alice is really nice though, she complimented my bright blue eyes. We played tag with her younger brother, Jonathan, and my older brother, Brandon, in the empty living room in my new house. My parents and her mom chatted outside by all of the boxes.
I miss my friends in New York, but so far I've been doing good making new ones.
When it got late out, Alice and Jonathan went back to their house. Most of the boxes were already inside, and we had blow up beds in our rooms. That night I slept good, knowing that Kansas was going to be fun.
The next day was the day before the first day of school. My mom said she unrolled me in the same school as Alice.
"Good morning, Samantha," my mom woke me up. "You got it get ready for school tomorrow. Aren't you excited?"
"Yeah mom, I guess," I answered. Not that I was excited for homework and learning, I hate school. But I was excited for making new friends.
My binder and supplies were sitting on my PE clothes on the kitchen table. My mom cooked me breakfast, a pancake with a (broomstick?) on it.
"Mom? Why does this pancake have a broomstick in it? Are you gonna make me clean the house?"
"No silly. That's the symbol of your new school. " That's weird, I thought. I went along with it and has a great day playing with Alice's family.
