"Judge me not by my ancestors, but by my actions," BBM told the world yesterday. All right. Sige subukan natin si BBM. Pero tayo ay magbabantay at magpapa-alala. This goes the same for the BBM supporters, even more so. For if after forgiving your lover and giving him a second chance he spites you again, wouldn't such habitual betrayal cry for justice already? Can you still be faulted if you go out for blood?

Bottom line, let these presumptively legally-elected leaders govern under the onus of their promises. Then we "take watch and pray" that they do. If they do not and/or even so much as to abuse their powers, we have the last resort of direct state action. But, in the meantime, the first recourse is always dialogue and accountability under the law.
