    " i don't mind. " joan whispered, her voice hoarse.

    " no, you don't know. " joan laid down, max laid down facing her.
    " i know. i'm sorry. i wish i could help you. "
    " wanna get a time machine, go back to 1983 and stop me from taking those pills home. maybe then i wouldn't be a target. maybe then my girlfriends brother won't try kill me. "
    " hey, i'm sure he won't. he's fine, don't worry about it. " max held her hand, joan nodded.
    " it just doesn't add up. " joan felt like she was crazy. 
    " hey, we saw heather. she's fine. it's all fine, okay ? now, let me read wonder woman to you as you fall asleep like a cute baby. " max picked up the wonder woman comic, throwing the green lantern one away.

    " max ! " joan wacked maxs arm, max laughed. 
    " fine, fine. you're a dork. " max looked down at her, it reminded her of last year.
    " i know i am. " the two laughed, before joan realised something.
    " hey, we're in your room. "
    " yes? "
    " then why are we on the air mattress. "
    " i don't know. but jades already asleep and elevens almost out. it's not worth it to wake them up. "
