Don't mind me, just bawling my eyes out because the ending of my most recent drama obsession was just that good! Honestly, I probably cry tears of happiness more often than not at the endings to these shows. Not that I can help it, I get so emotionally attached.
Sorry to not have posted in a while, I packed up and moved about an hour and a half away from home last week for the summer and I still haven't finished unpacking. Plus, I've been splitting my time between two dramas, so I may even post again here pretty soon because I'm pretty sure I only have a couple of episodes left.
My most recently finished drama was one that I had seen a long time ago, but I didn't watch it because, honestly, the genre isn't really my cup of tea. Now, I'm really kicking myself for not watching it sooner. This mini series was so beautiful and had so many emotional twist and turns that I was on a rollercoaster the entire time. So, after seeing the title, do yourself a favor, and add this one to your list.
My Holo Love
Guys, when I tell you don't let the trailer run you off, I mean it. This was completely different from my expectations. I really didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did.
My decision to watch this one was made after watching another drama with Yoon Hyun-min in it (which I will probably post before too terribly long) where he played the bad guy, so him being the (nice-ish?) male lead in this one was a complete role reversal for me. The character for this story was perfect for him. Not only are you seeing him in a singular role, but he plays both male leads with totally opposite personalities and HE PULLS IT OFF.
It's such a perfect dynamic and both roles interact so well with the female lead Ko Sung-hee. She encompasses her role amazingly as well and I loved seeing her character development as the show progressed. Both leads are able to find themselves and what they're looking for in life thanks to an AI developed by Yoon Hyun-min's character, Nan-do.
Bonus points for this series. I loved the relationship progression between side characters as well. In fact, I'm a sucker for bad guys turning good and this show delivers. In fact, the side character development is what leads to the beautiful ending that was the absolutely most perfect way to end such a perfectly executed series. Everything that happens up to the ending doesn't even take away from the beauty of it.
I'm not lying when I said I was crying. I shouted and immediately had tears in my eyes when I realized exactly what was happening, but for the sake of those of you going to watch it, I won't ruin it. Just know, that I'm pretty sure you'll love it just as much. I talk about endings in dramas a lot because a lot of the time, endings to these shows will make or break a show for me. If I'm not satisfied with an ending, I have no closure and I'm not satisfied with the show itself. I didn't have to worry with this one though.
Favorite line from the series:
"Nan-do you once told me to make my own rules. But I'm programmed to protect the people I care about. Even at the expense of my own existence."
SWOON. It's no fair for Yoon Hyun-min to have all the best lines seeing as he plays most of the show himself.
BUT WAIT....
I have the most exciting news if you haven't already heard, but for those Lee Dong-wook fans like myself, we're in for a treat! Tale of the Nine-tailed has been confirmed for a second season and Lee Dong-wook and Kim Bum have confirmed they're returning and already been posting about the filming and the script!
When I tell you I had the biggest fan girl moment of my life when this popped up in my news feed and Lee Dong-wook shared it on IG. Gosh, I walked around on cloud nine for the next few days. I cannot WAIT for this to release in 2023. I'm already counting down the days!

Thanks everyone! I'm sure you'll be hearing from me soon! Until then, catch up on some shows and share some recommendations! <3
