Chapter Three. - Lots of Confusion
As soon as Lilly and I were done with washing the plate, we ran upstairs. I asked, "Lilly, why, just WHY, did you have to tell my mom that I'm pan?" "Didn't you tell them already?" She replied. "Nah. I'm worried either mom or dad is homophobic." I shrugged.
Lilly gasped. "I'm so sorry Naomi." "It's okay. I didn't tell you not to tell my mom either." I shrugged again. "Anyway....let's go for a swim in the pool." Lilly nodded. We changed quickly and went to the backyard, splashing into the pool. We floated for a bit, then Lilly said, "I'm bicurious." I smiled, "Cool. I'm questioning and pan." As soon as I said that, I regretted it. "Cool." replied Lilly. I didn't say anything else.
When we went back inside, we showered, and then Lilly said she had to go home. "See you tomorrow!" I called as she and Tommy opened the front door. "See you." She smiled, waved, and then exited, Tommy running after her. I closed the door, and went back to my room. The rest of the day passed fairly quickly. Then, at about 8 o'clock, Noah said. "Sis, can we call daddy?" "I don't know, Noah. Maybe. It's about two in the afternoon for Dad." Dad is a lawyer, and Mom is a surgeon.
Dad went to Hawaii yesterday for some kind of business. Our family lives in Maine, U.S.A. My only grandma, my dad's mom, lives in Shanghai, China. "Please!!" Noah said. "Okay, okay. But don't be sad if dad doesn't answer. He may be in court right now, y'know." I remarked, pulling out my phone. I called dad at his hotel. He has his phone but there's a telephone, I think.
Dad didn't know it was me, because he couldn't see the phone number. So he said, "Hello, this is William Wong speaking." "DAD!" yelled Noah "IT'S US!" "Don't yell, Noah." I said.
We talked to dad for around half an hour, then Dad said, "I'm sorry guys, but I'm expected in court in half an hour and I need to get some things ready." "Okay, Dad!" Noah and I say. We hung up, and I asked, "How 'bout an early bedtime?" "Alright." Noah agrees, running to the bathroom. I went after him. "You can watch a movie after, Noah." I say, squeezing the last of my toothpaste on my toothbrush. "Yay." Noah exclaimed with a mouthful of toothpaste.
We both brushed our teeth, and then Noah asked, "Naomi, are you coming with me?" I shook my head. "Good night, Noah. Remember, only half an hour of TV." Noah nods, and sped to the living room. A minute later I heard the TV coming on. I went to my bedroom, and sat on my bed, thinking about all the LGBTQ+ terms. Soon I was too tired to think about anything, and I fell fast asleep.
