Emma had noticed the change in you. You were a lot cheerier than before, you smiled a whole lot more. She knew it had to do with Cash, but she didn't want to squeeze the answer out of you. Still, she was dying to know what was going on in your life, especially after you picked up your stuff from her basement because you FINALLY had found a new place.
Right as she wanted to ask you what the deal was with you and your beloved wrestler, your phone buzzed. You quickly glanced down at the notification, smiled to yourself and sent a reply.

"Cash?"
She was too curious not to ask.
You nodded your head yes and grinned at your friend.
"Yep. You know, we kind of...kissed." Your voice trailed off as you didn't know what else to say.

Emma almost choked on her coffee, making a scene in the backstage area you were in. Even though not many people were there yet, all eyes were on you now, it felt. "WHAT?! When? How was it? Why do I hear this just now?"

"Chill, Ems." You looked around to see if anyone was looking, although you didn't know why, it's not like kissing a coworker, let alone an attractive one, had become illegal.
"It happened a few days ago, when I invited him to take a look at the apartment. When he left, it just happened." You blushed a little at the memory of his lips against yours, an angelic look gracing your features.

"So, are you two....a thing now? Officially?"

"Uh, I don't know. We haven't talked about it. I'm not sure if he wants it to be  serious, you know. I'm too afraid to ask, honestly."

"Are you kidding me, Y/N Y/L/N!? He's been courting you for weeks - months! And I guess everybody working at AEW knew this would happen eventually, you two were probably the last ones to realize it."
A look of panic haunted your face now while cocking an eyebrow at your friend. "Wha-what do you mean? Everybody? Are people talking?"

"I haven't heard anybody say anything, but people saw you when you had your little book club meetings, you know. And you are adorable together. Even our supervisor mentioned that she was happy for you, how you lighten up when you're around Cash. Y/N, it is okay. No one said anything bad about you. Either of you." She said while reassuringly grabbing your hand and giving it a light squeeze.

"Speaking of a certain someone you need to talk to - here he comes." She added, looking past you. You momentarily froze and thought about leaving, but she was right - maybe you needed to talk.
As you wanted to turn around, you already felt his arms snake around your waist, lazily resting his head on your right shoulder.
"Hey you." Then he nodded to your friend. "Hey Emma. How are you two ladies on this fine day?"

You weren't able to answer him. From the second you felt his arms around you, all your worries washed away and you leaned back against his chest, your body melting into his.
Emma smiled at the cute interaction in front of her. She finally had the answer to why you were so cheerful, and she was beyond excited for you. It seemed like your life took a turn for the better, and she loved that.

"We're doing great, Cash. How about you? In fact, we just talked about you."

Upon hearing this, he lifted his head off your shoulder ever so lightly, curiously looking at Emma.

"Yeah? I hope you only heard good things about me."

"As if Y/N would ever say anything even mildly negative about you."

"Uhm, guys, I am right here." You motioned between the two in an attempt to make them acknowledge your presence; they, however just laughed before Emma spoke again.
"Well, I'll leave you guys to it. Bye Y/N, see you around Cash! And good luck with your match tonight." With that, she was already around the corner, leaving the two of you alone in the now empty  hallway.
