A Symphony of Life and Death

I'm a monster

I looked at my arm in horror, blood was dripping and the girls body was limp in front of me, I backed up scared of myself and what I just did, I just murdered someone! Vines rose from the ground surrounding me as I put my hands on my head. I'm a monster, I should be the one who is dead right now. The vines closed in wrapping me in a deep cocoon. I shouldn't go near anyone else, I won't go near anyone else, I'll just end up hurting them or maybe even worse, I'm a menace, I don't deserve anything other than the worse fate possible. I make everything worse, everyone would be better off without me, no one would miss me and I deserve that. I crawled over to the girl I murdered, she was younger than me and she looked so innocent, I just took an innocent girls life. A slicing sound caught my attention and I turned towards it with tears in my eyes, perhaps it's the person she was with here to take revenge, it's only fair.

As soon as I woke up I saw Life's avatar being attacked by someone who's face was surrounded by a bright light, I didn't know what was happening but it's clear that she was in danger so I rose a slab of earth to try and help her out but a dark figure leapt at me with a knife slicing at me, I summoned boulders from the earth and threw them at it, it dodged all the boulder and continued to attack me, I made more and more boulders but it continued dodging so I changed my strategy up. A layer of rock surrounded my body and I stood there waiting for the figure to reach me, once it did it tried to slice at me but the rocks stopped its knife and I grabbed its arm rendering it unable to move. Pulling back my free arm I repeatedly punched the figure not giving it anytime to react, suddenly though everything went dark and I couldn't see a thing, I stumbled backwards letting go of the figure. What happened? Why did everything go dark? It didn't remain dark as a bright wave of life dispelled the darkness and I heard a yell coming from the figure which now turned out to be a young man, he rushed towards life's avatar but I created a wall stopping him, he turned to me before looking back at the wall and he dropped his knife before turning and running away. It was only after I removed the wall I saw what happened, the girl life's avatar had been fighting was hanging on a vine after being impaled, blood was dripping from her stomach and all colour had been drained from her face, I raced over towards both of them but a sphere of vines surrounded them. I grabbed the knife the young man had dropped and started slicing through the vines, I needed to know what happened. My arms grew tired as I continued slicing, it felt like there was no end to the amount of vines but eventually I managed to make a small hole and I used the earth to expand the hole making it big enough for me to get into, She stared at me with a face full of tears and I sat down next to her. "I'm a monster!" I clasped my hands around her hand. "Tell me what happened." She took a deep breath before explaining to me what happened, "A person covered in darkness rushed at me after you fell asleep and they were trying to attack me but I managed to stop them and then this girl appeared from behind me and stood next to you telling me that if I came any closer she would kill you, Then I tried to use my goddesses powers to stop her and nothing happened until we got a scuffle and suddenly I impaled her with vines, I'm a terrible person." I looked into her eyes and grabbed her other hand, "Look at me, you are not a terrible person, she tried killing me and she tried killing you, she is the horrible person. if you hadn't of killed her she would have killed both of us, it was for the best." She didn't seem convinced but she at-least looked a little bit better now. I stood up and pulled her up before noticing a glowing sphere, I walked over to it and it flew inside of me, just then a voice that I'm all too familiar with whispered to me.

"You're proving your worth already child, now kill the life avatar so I can take her power." I put my hands around my ears, not again. He continued whispering to me, "If you don't kill her now while she is still inexperienced she will grow much stronger and you won't be able to defeat her in the future, why risk being killed when you could have it way easier, it also means that we'll win much faster, there's really no downside Terra, why wait?" I pushed my arms against my ears, "Shut up! I already told you I'm not doing that so stop trying to get me to kill her." He laughed before I snapped out of it, I'm not going to kill her!

After earths avatar calmed me down she noticed an orb of light and it flew into her, I watched confused on what was happening but after a second she just looked at me with a weird look on her face, "What was that orb?" She sighed before responding to me, "I have no idea, it just went into me as soon as I went near it." I lowered the vines around us and looked around. "Where did the other person go by the way?"
"He ran away after I stopped him from attacking you, that how I got into you vine cage thing." She showed me the knife that the dark figure had. "Let's go by the way, I don't think we'll be safe here anymore." I nodded before grabbing our stuff, "Let's get going- wait what is your name?" she laughed, "My names Terra, and yours?" I thought for a moment. "Emma, my name is Emma."
