Shen Yuan teaches literature at the high school, he has been at the school for quite a while now. 5 years to be exact.

He enjoys spending his break time in the library and at a coffee shop with his friend Shang Qinghua.

However, this all changed after the culinary teacher quit in the middle of the year. The school had to scramble to find someone and chose someone on a whim.

That's how Shen Yuan walked into school one day and saw a man with his brown hair cut to his shoulders half up in a bun. He was wearing a white sweater with beige pants and had golden eyes. He's slightly shorter than Shen Yuan himself.

He had a map of the school in his hands, it was upside down. He looked very confused. Shen Yuan pitied the man and walked to stand beside him.

"What are you looking for?" Shen Yuan asks. The man smiles and turns around sheepishly.

"I'm Xie Lian, the new culinary teacher. Do you know where class 209 is?" Xie Lian asks.

"It's right next to mine, I'll show you follow me." Shen Yuan answers.

He leads the teacher to the culinary class, it's awkward since none of them talk on the way. Xie Lian simply marvels at various decorations and posters on the walls.

"So, is this your first time teaching?" Shen Yuan asks, trying to make the situation less awkward with small talk.

"Nope! I've been fired twice before but I have been teaching for 4 years!" Xie Lian answers.

...wow, he knew the school was cheap but not this cheap.

"All the time they were culinary class?" Shen Yuan asks, trying to hide his surprised face.

"Yep! Honestly, I don't know how i keep getting hired." Xie Lian chuckles.

'Ya...you and me both.'  Shen Yuan thinks. They then get to the classroom.

"It was nice meeting you!" Xie Lian smiles, then waves.

"You too," Shen Yuan nods and walks inside his classroom.

He hopes the new teacher won't be too disruptive.

The first day, the school has to get evacuated because of a 'poisonous gas'. Shen Yuan doesn't have the heart to rat Xie Lian out and neither of his students say anything.

The second day Shen Yuan has to help stop a fire caused by Xie Lian.

The third day the microwave explodes because Xie Lian microwaved a fork.

The fourth day and student catches on fire, they were luckily okay. Xie Lian is given a warning, one more mistake and he's fired.

The fifth day, Shen Yuan has a plan. Xie Lian was nice enough, so he will pity him.

He walks into Xie Lian's classroom after school has ended.

"Hello Shen-Xiong, do you need anything?" Xie Lian asks sweetly, but is obviously stressed.

"Yes, well no I don't need anything. I am offering to help you cook, I don't know a lot but I know enough." Shen Yuan offers. "Not that your cooking is bad-,"
