Ivory's POV
I urged my hands farther into my jeans, my nails digging into my legs. I craned my head upward, and saw Aden's sad look, staring at the floor, blushing when he caught my gaze. I scanned the throng around me, searching for the recognizable red head.
"Maya, hey how are you?" I called. She wedged herself between Aden and I.
Thank goodness.
This was horrible of me, I know. I just couldn''t hurt him. I did think that i liked him.. But it turns out I was just afraid of losing my friend. Silly me.
"Oh, Ivory.. Umm, I'm good. I guess, how are you?" her head poked up a little, and her blue eyes bore into mine. I knew she could tell something was wrong.
Oh, nothing really, I'm just totally leading a guy on, the reason I hate most other girls.. "I'm okay." I didn't feel like looking bad in that moment. She shook her head at me.
Maya ditched me for her classes, and I was left alone with Aden once again.
"Bye Ivory, I'll see you after class..?" I hated when he did this, the way he makes himself look like a puppy dog, begging..
"Uhh, sure." It was the best I could do. I got in through the door, with a few seconds to spare, and plopped into my seat.
"Hey everybody! Look it's Ivory!" Clause Vaanderwal shouted from across the room. Half the time it seemed like he was oblivious to relationships. He always flirting with everyone while he was in them, and wouldn't leave anyone alone if they were in one.
I shoved my nose into my book, ignoring Clause's breath coming in puffs over my shoulder. I whipped around, eyeing him.
"Will, you, stop." I hissed. A smirk positioned itself onto his face.
"What will you do if I say no?" the smirk stayed on his face, gaining a little confidence. I only rolled my eyes and turned back around. It wasn't worth it. All I would need was another referral. I heard his laughter over my shoulder, and made it a point of pushing my books to the farthest edge of the little shelf under my desk.

Clause's POV
I had to admit it, the guys were going to notice how much I was trying to get on her nerves in English. They weren't going to let it go. I even dared as much to start tugging on her hair, and to kicking her books off the little shelf under her chair.
I saw her shoulders slump, and could almost feel her eyes rolling at me. I leaned back in my desk, I'd be done bugging her until reading, the next class that I sat by her in. I chewed at the end of my pen, and strated dodling on the margins of my homework. I leaned back into my desk, reaching my arms out behind me. I dared to lean back even fatherin my desk, cracking my back, and laughed a little as Ivory winced at the sound. I leaned to the edge of my chair, as close to her as I could get while still staying in my desk. I tugged at my finger; POP! She jumped. I urged my thumbs back; THUMP! She squealed. Her hand flew from their crossed position as she pressed her fingers to her mouth.
The teacher had stopped, and told us to work in partners on the assignment. I followed Ivory's eyes as they glanced toward the board, taking in the assignment, and then flung her hair back around her arm, completely covering her face, and paper. I dared to rach forward and poke her shoulder.
"Partners?" I questioned right into her ear, a shiver crawled up her spine visibly. She took a breath before turning my way.
"Do you want to do some of the work, or do you just want answers?" she spoke coldly.
I pondered for a moment, all I really wanted was her attention. The better part of me knew it, but there was no way I would ever admit that to anyone. Ivory just seemed so.. Plain. No, that wasn't the right word. She just didn't seem to want anything from anyone. She never asked anything of anyone, and had a gentle way of asking you to do something, so sweet that you would feel guilty if you didn't.
"I.." My voice popped, I had almost said the wrong thing. But really.. I just didn't know anymore.
"I would like to help. I know you're smart, and I really need the help." My mother had been urking me to get a tutor. She was smart.. There was enough truth in my statement. That was the other thing, I couldn't lie to the girl for my life.
"Alright then," she tugged her desk around, facing mine. She tucked her long hair behind an ear, letting the other side fall, and the smell reached my nose. I swallowed, and quickly regained myself as her huge eyes reached mine. They were an icy chade of green, warm, but they were terribly cold if she forced them to be.
"There's always that one person, that no matter what they do to you.. If they say they love you, you'll always say it back."-Unknown
