Supergirl
Entering the building up-stairs I found the rest of the group. Two boys in black, one wore a long black robe with tight shorts, a crop top and a mask, the other wore a familiar but weirdly fitting black spandex cat-suite. Cat-suite boy had a half mask, with pale blue skin and vampire-like fangs but the other boy was clearly magical. He pulled pages out of a notebook in response to my sudden appearance, then threw the fluttering pages in my general direction. I briefly glanced at words written in red, then saw fireballs burst out towards me.
I barely had to dodge, they moved so slowly, and it took moments to gain ground. Latching my hands around the boy's wrist, I twisted, trying to pin his arms behind his back, while getting out of the way of the cat-suite's potential attacks.
"Capra, get out of here!" The magician boy yelled, realistically the kid in skintight clothes did - black leathery wings stretching out from around the boy's middle and stretching into decently sized wings. So, bat themed? Neither kids had obviously planned for this kind of pincer attack, expecting only the threat from behind. In this narrow corridor he hovered rather than flew, using alternating running and jumping to head for the 'hole' I'd made. Lifting the magic user, I felt him try to fly against me, pushing me back so I drove our bodies towards the second kid, dropping on him. Pulling carbon fibre ties from a pocket in my skirt, I proceeded to tie limbs to each other so that, in moments, the bat's left hand was tied to his right foot, his right foot to his left hand and then one of those to a display on the side of the hallway.
This left the magic user, who had managed to get back up and was making a run for it.
That was when the Brian's roar echoed throughout the building, resulting in the cat-suited boy wriggling and screaming in pain. Brian's call for help broke through the channel; "Supergirl! Kids down, Kids Down! Need Support!"
I hesitated, everything in my fight stopped, a chill going through the air as the child villains I attempted to capture turned back to look at me.
"What Happened!" I called back, through the mic.
"Adult Hero, Jackass! Kid is bleeding out! Send Help!" The words coming over the line were wreathed in static but clear to my super hearing.
I looked at the remaining kid, "Do I need to tie you up too?" I demanded.
"I can heal!" the unexpected voice brought my thoughts to a stop, almost a sing-song voice, sounding younger than the figure looked. "My sister down stairs, we're both magic users! Take me with!" What did I do? It was just me and Sharkie here, and if the adult hero was crossing a line. I nodded, "You may end up fighting an adult hero!" I confirmed, the boy blanched but nodded. Picking the lightweight up, and trying not to let his robe or skint costume be distracting, I flew us out, back through my entry way and towards Brian's.
A mess was right, I kept my head.
Two figures, one a magic user, chanted a repeated phrase. Something Metreon Zinc guitar? I had no idea, blue and black flames circled in the air around her and her eyes glowed as she worked, slowly a shadow spread out on the ground around her. Brian had apparently driven the adult hero, another magician from the site of the initial bloodshed. A grinding trail of torn carpet marked where Brian had, rather professionally, moved the threat away and now Brian used himself as a meat-shield at the end of the hall..
Beside the prone girl a, for lack of a better term, cheer-leeder in a white and now blood stained outfit tried to stem the blood of ... Severed limbs. A girl in gold with long flowing hair, lay there, passed out and smeared with blood, it gradually expanded in a pool around the figures and the severed legs lay to one side. I closed my eyes, swallowed, then took command.
"Kids, get to work, heal or stabilise your friend. I'll deal with this threat then all of you are going down-stairs, there'll be an ambulance waiting!"
Dropping my human package I turned back to Charlie, "Professional work Sharkie, trade ya!"
The man at the end of the hall, now cut off from the gore, seamed calm if rather less composed as he yelled, "Gods all forsake us for well meaning kids. I'm a Sorcerer, children. I could render that child limb from limb, and she wouldn't die. Just be in lots of peaces. It's good you're thinking cautiously but her life isn't in danger, just her supervillain career."
"MASTER, This is Not Funny!" The professional hero and side-kick didn't appear to be agreeing right now. "You made your point!"
"My Point!" I didn't let him make the point.
With Brian traded out, I scanned the rooms below quickly, found plenty of open space and took the floor out from beneath the sorcerer. Slam, one floor, two, Slam, three, four- all the way to the basement. A nice clean hole, surrounded by gathering dust. I checked at the bottom, the forcefield the man used flickered, but was still on, the man laying prone.
Moment's later, a small orb surrounded by glittering wings of clay and a ghost in grey clothing arrived, "I can keep him here." I didn't know this ghost, but I nodded consent and flew back up.
"We have time, how's the injured girl?" The magic users were working, Sharkie was leaning against a wall and panting so I took up a protective guard. "Who are you?" I asked the young villains, "Did you pick code-names? We'll use them when we get to the hospital!"
I got occasional glances but not much else. "We are, Raven and Crow. That'll do!" The girl responded, their clothes were almost identical at a glance, their faces very clearly related with fine features and pale skin. The girl wore no mask, clearly not feeling the need for one.
"I think I have it!" The boy manipulated a blob of black energy, their eyes glowed as the did and while his skin crawled with letters, her's pulsed with menace. The power was settling on the girl but especially around the stumps of the legs. "It's a suspended animation, she can't bleed out cause no time will pass. If we had Bar... Budgie?" He glanced up at me, as though asking somebody permission for the name. "You know. A poppet and some thread and these legs would be back on!"
The girl in black nodded, "You really should try the meditation, it helps suppress the demonic energy." She commented dryly, "I've taken away the shock and cleaned the infections in both the stumps. I don't know how well the legs themselves will go!"
"There's an ambulance not far from here, can the child be moved?" I questioned, and was surprised to see the two magic users pull out Felt-Tip Markers. Together they began writing on the girl's costume, words like "Sustain life, hold and protect, cancel when removed" and other phrases. The words wriggled under their intent as though alive, making space for each other on the girl's costume.
"She can, I'd like to follow if I may. I know this girl privately!" It was the girl, Raven who asked this. "Will my brother and my friend be arrested?" I shrugged. "If I leave, It'll be up to Brian and Robin.
"That's alright!" A voice from behind interrupted, I looked back to see the ghost girl from earlier. "I'm here as a representative from the villains. I've done some stuff to keep the Original down-stairs. I can't stop the Teen Titan's in this situation, but if you kids haven't taken anything yet everything should be fine. You'll be held, probably over-night but charges won't be laid. Probably."
"The Original will have to explain his actions before an inquiry!" I found my hands making the classic pose my cousin did, stopped it and shrugged. "Anyhow, not my choice. I'll take your friend, can you follow Raven?"
With a nodded response the girl turned to mist, slowly drifting out the window and down into the streets. I went in a more glorified fashion. We'd find the ambulance and see what happened.
