The atmosphere was tense as me and Slinca stood there for a good minute or two. I think we were both wondering the same thing, who was gonna do the first move? My question was answered as Slinca came charging at me. When she did that, it reminded me of my brother, he would always do the same thing to me every time we fought over the week. I froze there, not knowing what to do. And then, she hit me full force and I went flying back.

"That's one!" I heard Yurinami say, as my body hit the ground.

Goddammit, what the hell am I doing!? I'm here to change myself for the better, so why am I freezing up now!?

I quickly got back up and saw Slinca charging at me again. She swung her sword, and by some miracle, I blocked it. I can't believe I just did that, that was pretty cool of me. Wait! I shouldn't just sit here, time for me to swing back. I closed my eyes and lifted my sword and swung it at her. I'm pretty sure I hit her because I heard my sword hit something. When I opened my eyes to look, I realized she blocked the sword like I did. But the way she did it, she had her sword under mine and she lifted her sword up and mine went flying out of my hand. She then swung down on me and hit me in the head. I stumbled back, my vision was a little blurry, my head started hurting like it was gonna split apart. Fuck dude! I'm not gonna go down like this! Just let me get one hit, just let me get one hit! I prayed as I finally got my feet settled into the ground and my vision returned to normal.

"My sword!" I said out loud. I realized the sword was across the mat from me. Where Slinca was. I lose, I've lost. After all this time I won't even get one hit in. Goddammit what's wrong with me! Slinca was charging at me, this is it. I've made a fool of myself in front of everyone, I wonder what they'll think of me if I lose this badly? Will they be like that? "I can't believe he lost so badly like that, and to think he showed some potential. What a waste!"

Slinca was now in front of me, her sword lifted up, ready to swing back down on me.

NO! THIS ISN'T OVER YET!

I ducked down, dodging her attack at my head. I then ran forward, grabbed her, and threw her directly into the ground. I heard her grunt, but now wasn't the time to worry if I injured her.

"That's one!" Yurinami said.

I did it! I got one hit in! And I didn't even need to use the sword. Wait, the sword! Now's my chance! I ran towards the sword that was on the ground, and picked it up. Now's my chance. Instead of hitting her once, I can hit her twice. I can double my hits. I ran at her without a second thought, I didn't even know I could run that fast. I got there before Slinca could even get up after that hit. She looked over in my direction and was shocked to see me there that quickly, I swung back, getting ready to swing. She put her sword up to block. I noticed that she did that, and changed my target in less than a second. I swung for her lower back, near her waist and hit her dead on. She screamed in pain. Did I hit her that hard? Wait, I HIT HER! I GOT A SECOND HIT!

"That's two!" Yurinami said.

I was too overjoyed to notice Slinca limping a little bit when she quickly got up and stepped back. Did I hit a sore spot or something? I looked up at her face, she was staring angrily at me. That's the angriest I've ever seen someone be. Oh, no. I said to myself. The only other times I've seen that face is when she absolutely wrecked that kid in the alleyway. She always finishes her opponents off with a special move, a move that knocks them out immediately. I knew what was coming next, but even then I couldn't predict how fast she would be. Within the millisecond Yurinami finished announcing the second hit I placed on her. She was in the air, lunging at me. She had her sword all the way back, and she swung. Hitting my neck.

I blacked out.
