>> GUN >>
When I woke up P'Off was no longer there. The place seemed empty. The wallclock read 9am I guess I have more than enough time to prepare. It was then when I heard my phone ring. It was a number not registered on my phone.
"Hello?" I greeted.
"Sir Gun, this is Arm, Mr. Adulkittiporn's assistant." the voice on the other line greeted. I could hear a loud background noise from his end but it was mostly office chatter.
"How can I help?"
"Are you still in Mr. Adulkittiporn's condo? He told me to pick up some blueprints in the guest room. Unfortunately, he left before giving me the keys. Would you mind waiting for me to pick up the items? He needs it for his 3pm today." Arm said.
"Don't bother. I'm actually going there for a 1pm meeting. I'll just call you when I arrive at the building." I offered.
"That would be very nice of you." he sighed out of relief.
"How many blueprints should I bring?" I asked.
"He said to just everything on the bed?" he sounded unsure but oh, well.
"Alright. I'll call you later then."
"Thank you very much. Well, I got to run." he said before ending the call.
I went straigh to the guest room to get the blueprints. I wanted to make sure to bring the correct bag. As I entered, I was quite enamored by the mural despite it being unfinished. It was mostly an abstract painting. It was beautiful but somehow I felt sad seeing it. I'm just not sure why.
Luckily there was a tube which could fit the blue prints. I placed the cover and body separately on the bed. I rolled and placed all blueprints neatly inside the tube. I clumsily hit the cover causing it to roll to the other side of the bed. I would've walked over if there were space between the wall and the bed but there wasn't. I crawled over the bed and tried to feel for the cover, which had already fallen off. I turned to face the mural for me to better reach the cover. It was then that the painting showed a different meaning when viewed at 90 degree.
Standing up, the painting looked like streaks of black paint on a while wall. On this position, it told a story of him being lost. I'm not sure but it showed places. It was like a comic strip of him searching and almost catching up to someone. It seems it contained his search for me and the things he did to try and overcome things.
One part struck me was the part where it just shows a phone's notifications, which read:
XXXX Missed Calls
XXXX Messages
Papi Where did you run off to? How can you leave? Why hurt and ignore me like this?Ignore. That word shouted at me. He must've thought I've ignored the calls. I didn't. I had it disconnected before I left. P'Arm actually accompanied me yesterday to get new line. When I tried calling P'Arm, we were both surprised to learn that it the same number. Fate must be playing a trick on me.
I soon find myself at reception waiting for Arm. The place was quite busy with people going in and out of the building.
"Excuse my young man but loitering here is not allowed." a security had approached me. I guess it was just understandable as I've been waiting near the entrance to the elevator.
"Oh I'm sorry. I'm actually waiting for someone to go down." I explained.
"We have received a lot of complaints with unwanted guests. We suggest you wait outside. You may look into registering so you could go to the specific office. There is a coffee place a couple of blocks from here if you'd like to wait for the other person. " He explained. He was actually quite nice to explain things to me.
