A/N: Hello again! I am super excited that we are finally getting to this point of this rather long journey. Hasn't been that long, but still. Now THIS is where it starts to get interesting(HEHEHEHE). Now without further ado, let's get started shall we?
Sarah's POV
"Have you ever heard of the Slenderman?", Tim asked me. I shook my head. "Well, I don't expect you to be familiar with it since you're not from around here." I've never heard of such a thing in my life, but I was curious to know what the Slenderman was. "Well, go on!", I urged. This time Chelsea spoke, "It's the monster that lives in the woods." I looked at her, confused. There's no such thing as monsters. Right? She continued, "Story goes that a creature lives in these woods and it's called the Slenderman, and anyone who dares enter Slenderman's woods will be torn apart and devoured by Slenderman himself." Her story gave me chills, and the trees seemed to chant in agreement, but I was still skeptical. "You can't honestly believe that? I mean, have you ever even seen him?" Tim and Chelsea gave me serious looks. I don't think they liked talking about this. "Sometimes we see him in our dreams. Well, that's when they're nightmares. You don't have to see him to know he's there. There have been lots of time when Tim and I have been playing here. Close to the fence. And then we can feel the air start to get really cold, and I swear everytime I can see something moving. It's moving so fast that if you blink you'll miss it. But, worst of all, is that feeling you get. I can't really explain exactly how it feels. But I know that you feel really really scared. That's how you know it's here. When you get really scared and you don't know why.", she finished in a whisper, and looked down at the ground. Tim spoke up, "It's not just us. The whole town's terrified of the woods. It's practically against the law to go out at night and the woods are strictly off limits. Especially after what happened to those kids-" "Tim, shut up!" Chelsea interrupted, "We aren't suppose to talk about that." "Oh we might as well. We already told her about the whole Slenderman buisness and we aren't supposed to talk about that either. We might as well tell her what happened to the children." I was too interested in their story to act skeptical. "What children?", I asked. "About thirty years ago, there was a masacre here in Slenderman's woods.", Tim began, "All of the children in town were out playing with the leaves during the fall, having fun, enjoying being kids right? That was until one of the kids decided it'd be fun to go to the woods and play hide and seek. Now, the story of the Slenderman has been around for a very long time. So all the kids were familiar with it and didn't want to go. But the same kid insisted and convinced all of them to go with him. They all went to the woods and started playing hide and seek. It was all fun and games until something started to go horribly wrong. The kids all suddenly got really cold and scared. No one saw anything, but they heard everything. Screams of pure horror. Just like that, all of the children in town, dead. The police never found anything. Just the dismembered remains and a page with the words 'Don't look or it takes you' scribbled on it. The whole town was devastated at the loss of all the children. Well, all except one. A little girl who was smart enough to stay out. Years went by and the town eventually had to move on. Some parents had more kids. While others stayed childless. They warned their children better this time and all went swell. Until, the Slenderman got hungry again. Too hungry to wait for more kids to accidentally enter his woods again. So just like that, children started dissapearing. A lot of them claiming to have horrible nightmares before hand. They were mostly taken when they were out alone too late. Or just anytime their parents weren't around. Kids dissapearing from their beds. After that, no one wanted to have kids anymore. It was bad enough losing your kids once, but twice was down right unbearable. That's why you won't find any kids around here. Everyone just couldn't take any more loss. There used to be many more people, when the town looked alive. But now, the only people that are left are the ones that saw no reason to move on. They just didn't have it in them to keep going." There was a long pause after he finished. I had to process what I had just heard. That couldn't possibly be true. Or could it? "Wait a minute, something doesn't add up.", I said, "How come you guys are okay?" Chelsea said, "Haven't you noticed that everyone who lives here is old? We told you, the only people left here are the ones who just couldn't move on with their lives. Our mom left here with our grandparents when she was little, after the whole dissapearing kids thing started to happen. After she married our dad, our grandparents came back. They prefer the small quiet town than to the noisy city. Our mom sends us here to stay with our grandparents every summer. Although it's not much of a vacation, we've learned to love this place and even like the creepy legends." Damn. Why did everything they say make sense? "But the entire town's children can't have dissapeared just like that." I said. Besides my mom used to live here and she's fine. So it couldn't be true. Tim said, "Well not all of them. Some escaped to other places like our parents. But there was one survivor. The little girl who survived the first attack." I raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah and what was her name?" Chelsae replied, "Ummm... I think it was Maggie or something. I can't remember." I gave them a serious look. "It was a pleasure meeting you, I have to go now." I said awkwardly. The chills would not stop coming as I turned and quickly walked to my back door. The twins just stood there staring after me with confused looks on their faces. I slid the door shut and ran upstairs to my room. I kicked off my boots and layed face down on my bed. I was really freaked out. The story was creepy enough alone. The way it somehow made sense. But it was down right terrifying when it seemed to be true. I was pretty sure that it was just a story up until something put me into serious doubt. Now I wasn't sure. It was that girl. No not that girl. Her name. Maggie. That's my mom's name.
