*Sarah's POV*
I looked up the word Slenderman. Just to see what would appear. I found several websites with all kinds of theories and information about the subject. They all looked the same. Except some would say the Slenderman was an alien, while others said it was a demon. I looked through them all. Not gaining any knowledge on what exactly the creature was, but one website caught my attention. It was a website dedicated to Slenderman and everything known about him. Every sighting, detail, and every single piece of information I'd ever need to know. So much information to be known. I tried to take in as much as I could. Cramming information in my brain. I read every sentence down to the last period. This Slenderman creature has been around forever. Hundreds and hundreds of years. It was a looming ghost on this small town and I could see why. It was a murderer. It killed children and considering the bodies are always brutally mangled or never found makes me think it really must eat them. It can't be seen directly. Only through lenses. Like from a camera. Or unless it decides to show itself. That made me wonder. I had thought I'd seen something in the woods. Is that what it is? And if it is... Then why would the Slenderman want to show itself to me? My heart beat rapidly, not out of fear or intimidation, but out of excitement. I knew there was more to this creature. It was amazing the things it could do. It could become invisible and teleport. It was fast and very silent. It was horrifyingly wonderful. I couldn't help but wonder if it could communicate. There was a link on the website to read about sightings. I saw a picture of it. My blood ran cold. That creature. It was the creature from my dreams.

I couldn't explain it. I'd never even heard of the Slenderman before I came here. How could I have been dreaming of him before that? It made no sense. Everything was identical. The suit, the tie, the same blank face. It was tall like in my dreams. So tall. I knew one thing for sure. There was no way I could just forget it now. I had to understand it. I had to know more about it. I pushed away from my desk and leaned back in my chair. My head was pounding and my eyes stung. I draped my arm over my eyes to block out the light. I sighed deeply. The more I got involved with this Slenderman business the less I seemed to understand. It was like a curtain pulled over my eyes. There was something I wasn't seeing. It bothered me. It was staring me in the face. Screaming at me to understand. It was getting louder the more I tried to understand. It was the whispers again. They wouldn't stop. They were calling me, waiting. I held my head between my hands and squeezed my eyes shut. They wouldn't stop. It was always like this even when I tried to sleep they wouldn't stop their constant shouting. I couldn't keep living like this. This was no way to live. I stood up and looked out my window. There it was again. That fucking thing. It wouldn't go away.
Fine. I guess I'm exploring after all.
