I woke up that morning feeling dread as the sunlight poured through my windows. I didn't want to get out of bed, I couldn't. I didn't have the strength or the determination and so I didn't, I just lay in bed not bothering to go back to sleep or anything just laying there. The few seconds that I was awake, bled into minutes then probably an hour before my mum came in. The door slung open as she walked straight inside and just stood there, lightly tapping her foot on the floor to make out that she was waiting for me. I brought myself just high enough to sit up and I stared at my mum. After a few seconds, her eyebrows knitted together and she tilted her head slightly and looked at me, confusion painted all over her face. There was a peaceful silence in the room. I felt numb. Until the moment I felt it all. I felt the tranquil, small body of water carry its way down my face. I didn't begin to fully cry or wail or even shout out, because the only thing that I could feel was the glacial water diluting into my dry skin. With that last motion still in mind, my mum went downstairs and didn't come back up again.
An hour passed until I finally heard a knock on my, hanging on by the hinges, door. I didn't want to say "come in" or anything like that because I didn't want anyone to see me like this. When the door started to creak, I tore my eyes away from looking at the same bed sheets and I saw the one person I needed. It wasn't Eliza or my mum for that fact it was just my best friend. A person who had been by my side for a good fifteen years.
Her name was Alice Auclair. She is french and has a bigger family than me. Her dad's name is Cédric Auclair which means he has a generous, friendly character and his last name means clear. Her mum's name is Béatrice Auclair which means "she who makes me happy" and her last name also means clear. She also has a twin brother who is three minutes younger than Alice, his name is Laurie Auclair. Which means, honour and victory and his last name also means clear. Alice's full name is Alice-Madelyn Auclair which means noble and clear. Their house is much better and bigger than mine and mum's because they have a lot more money, they have the money to be as rich as the snobs but they obviously didn't have the "Great English Status" so then they can't be that rich and be respected at the same time. They have many acres of land, and one of them is used for their horse Sydney. That name also means wide meadow. She is a beautiful Clydesdale horse with black and white patches miss matched all over her pristine body. Her mane and tail are both long apart from her mane is a blank white colour whereas her tail is a deep night sky black. She also has white hair around her feet. When she is walking, it makes it look like she was walking on a cloud.
Alice knew exactly how to cheer me up, and so she decided to take me on a ride. I mounted onto Sydney, paid my respects and began to loosely and safely tie a rope around her to use as my reins. Once we began trotting along paths and up hills, I realised that Alice was also there walking her dogs. One was a female Australian Shepherd named Fleur, which meant flower. Her other dog was a male Border Collie named Timothée which meant honouring god. Alice's dogs are so perfect, they protect each other because they have no one else in their lives. They are soulmates destined to unite... Unlike me and someone else...
Once we finally reached a rather large mountain top, it was the evening and we all decided to sit on a picnic blanket just to watch the sun dawn below the horizon. A golden drop of paint on a canvas of possibility, above me flooding the scene with its flickering golden illumination. A thousand sparks of hope rose on the same canvas of darkness, each one a drop of euphoria in an ocean of nothingness. Slowly, thousands of petals detached from the flower garden above and danced sweetly in the breeze as they fluttered gently towards the ground. The rain wasn't aggressive or powerful it was a light tapping on the outer layer of our bodies, finally binding us one with nature. All was quiet and the world was peaceful it was just a girl, a boy, two dogs and a horse.
The things I'd do to cherish this moment a whole lot longer...
