Chapter 2
I get inside the bus. I have this weird feeling that someone’s following me. I keep turning my head to look if there really is someone following me. None.
But there is this girl. She isn’t really following me. She looks sort of lost really.
Now I have this strange feeling that I’ve seen her somewhere before. No, that isn’t right. The feeling is more like I knew her. Or know. I feel like I should. She glances up from time to time and catches me looking at her.
This time however, when she does catch me looking. I don’t turn away. Instead, I look deep into her eyes. The color of her eyes seems off though. It’s brown and obviously, she’s not wearing contact lenses but something isn’t right. I have seen her somewhere before and I do know her.
Then it all came back to me.
At first it seemed too surreal to even be true but the more I thought about it, the more real it seemed. The bus comes to a halt and I stand up and get out of the bus. I practically ran all the way home.
I close the door behind me panting. I didn’t even check if she’s still following me. No doubt for sure she is. I let out a sigh of relief. She can’t harm me. My parents wouldn’t allow that. The last time she did, she was imprisoned.
I turn around and look through the peephole. I don’t see her. That’s a good sign. Maybe she hadn’t had a chance to catch up with me.
Then I felt something cold and hard behind my head.
“Make a sound and you die,” a husky voice said. It’s too deep to be hers. I can still remember her soothing voice. This voice is a male. I don’t remember him. “Turn around slowly.”
I do as he says and I see a teenage boy standing before me. He has chestnut brown hair and brown eyes and freckles all around his face. He’s not really tall. I’d say he’s around average height. He’s thin and lean. I would say he’s cute if he’s not trying to kill me.
“Who are you?” I ask softly, my voice barely a whisper. He smirks devilishly. I really don’t remember him. I only remember Sarah. Who is this boy?
“You wouldn’t know,” he says in a scary tone of voice. Then someone knocks at the door. I jump at the sound. He widens his eyes at me and gestures for me to keep quiet and stand aside. He leans through the peephole to take a look. Then he grins and I have a pretty good guess as to who it is.
He unlocks the door and in comes Sarah Osborne. She smiles at the boy and turns to look at me. Her grin fades and a scary expression replaces her beautiful face. I’ve always found Sarah beautiful, even now.
Back then she looked like a Greek Goddess and today, she looked like an Egyptian Princess. Her brown eyes narrowed at me.
“Long time no see,” she says. I note that her voice has changed. It became slightly deeper. Not like the childlike voice I was used to. “How have you been, Abigail?”
I can’t answer. I’m speechless. I know she’ll just kill me. Just like how she killed those two other people. I stand there, stunned and shocked. Sarah looks really menacing and I’m too frightened to look at her. I turn my attention to the boy standing next to her. He watches me with curious eyes. I think he wants to know what my next move is. As if I had any!
“I know you’re here to kill me,” I say to the two of them. The boy’s face changed from deadly curios to just plain curious. He really doesn’t know where I’m going with this. “But can I at least know a few things first?”
