Wooo, another update.

Sarah's POV (I almost wrote Sareth...)

My first reaction? Disbelief. It took a few seconds of staring at the two men for it to sink in. Then jealousy. And rage. A red haze clouded my vision as I looked a the other man. A small part of me knew that their love is nowhere near as deep as what I share with Jareth, his feelings were still muted then. But most of me saw him as an enemy, someone to be dealt with. I saw his mouth moving, his body shake with laughter, and a bolt of energy flew towards me.

Jareth's POV

"I've been thinking of ways for revenge since you brushed me off those years ago. But now I have the best idea. "

My heart crawled it's way up to my throat, lodging there, he wouldn't really?

"Oh yes I will," he spits before laughing. Oh how he has changed. He launches a beam of energy at Sarah, yelling "Who do you love now, my sweet?"

I could tell her confusion at his words. I decided that it was time to open the link.

Sarah, I whispered into her mind, he cast a spell to force you to love him. I have to ask you to play along with him.

She looked at me dubiously before turning to Daranell.

"You, of course," my love says with such conviction, such great acting, my heart breaks a bit.

Sarah's POV

I shut off my feelings and present the acting side of me, throwing myself into the role that has been asked of me. It is hard, ignoring Jareth's begging, even though I am fully aware it was an act. It was all a ruse.

I repeated these words to myself as Daranell took my hand. It was all a ruse. I turned without a second glance to the man on the floor, acting with such conviction. It was all a ruse. I was taken to a private chamber to rest. It was all a ruse.

It was all just a ruse.

Its not too short, I hope. I feel like, as with the last attempts at writing have went, the story is turning drab. I hope I'm not boring anyone to death.
