Sarah's POV

I stare out the window, heart brimming with anticipation. i'd had never flown in a plane before, and being nearly 27, I was excited to finally be on one. As the seat-belt sign clicks off, I settle into the plane ride.

I startle awake at the sound of an alarm. It takes me a moment to register where we are, over a blue stretch  of the ocean. The alarm strangle shut as the plane snaps in half, releasing a gust of air. While the others scream, I stay numb, disbelieving. I stand there and stare at where the front end of the plane used to be. Until a strong pair of masculine arms envelope me. I crack, turning and sobbing into the man's chest. I don't know how long i stood there sobbing, but when I do stop, we're not on the plane.

Jareth's POV

I hold Sarah as she sobs, comforting her the best I could. I hear her stop and know that she has just realised she's off the plane. What she doesn't know yet is that she is in my castle. I feel her face  peek around me to look out the window. Her gasp when she sees the labyrinth fills me with dread. What if she thought I was capturing her? What if she hated me? I was thrown out of my thought by a pushing against my chest. I automatically tightened my arms around Sarah until I feel her wrench away.

Sarah's POV

I pull away from the monster, backing away to the other wall. I look around but the only exit is the door right behind Jareth.

"Why did you take me?" I yell, making him flinch.

"Saved you," he says, "You were heading towards the ocean at high speeds, high enough to make you into a human pancake."

I stare at him, incapable of believing that he had saved me without wanting me trapped in his control in some way.

Looking almost apologetic, he adds, "Unfortunately you can't go back, unless you want to cause mass destruction, possibly even destroying the earth."

I crack. Running at him, I scream  "I hate you!" over and over while pummeling his chest with punches.

He stands there, taking the hits. As I tire, I collapse against his chest, once again sobbing. Jareth slowly, hesitantly wraps his arms around me. I make no attempt to stop him. In my exhausted haze, I remember him taking me and lying me on a bed. Just before he leaves, Jareth's cool lips touch my forehead before he murmurs, "I know, but I love you."
