"you're a cowboy like me
perched in the dark."

The excitement created by the cross soon ceased when Pope began being stung by the wasps around him. His friends quickly placed cushions on the floor, so he could fall on top of them and not hurt himself. Once he was there, he was bombarded by questions about his well being. Tho, his eyes were focused on the cross that was going to fall on top of him. He quickly rolled around to a side, alerting his friends about what was about to happen. They all screamed as they pushed each other to a side. Kiara and Sarah went to one side of the church, sharing a short meaningful look before glancing forward. Sarah stepped before Kie, who was left in thought "Pope, are you okay?"

"Hey, you good?" JJ asked after Sarah, kneeling besides his friend as John and him rushed from the side they were at. The Lynn duo, who were by the altar now, slowly approached them.

"Yeah, I'm good. Just give me, like, one second to, like, catch my breath." He replied, still on the floor and panting.

"You did it, Pope." John beamed, all of his friends going to touch the cross. Looking at it in awe.

"Pope, she's... she's beautiful." JJ complimented.

"As someone picky. It really is a masterpiece, Poe." Evelyn added, the boy smiling softly at the new nickname she just came up with.

"I've never seen anything like it." Her little sister agreed.

"Detail's insane." JJ continued to be in awe with the cross.

"Well, here's why Limbrey wanted that key so bad." John said while Jocelyn helped Pope up. Evelyn noticed them, gaping and also helping the boy who seemed exhausted.

"Whoa. Good find. How much do you think she's worth? Like, if we melted her old bones down, dude, I'm talking like high billions." JJ was caressing the cross in a way Evelyn was left confused.

"I think he's more into that cross than he is into me." She whispered to the two besides her.

Jocelyn nodded, "Totally."

"This belongs in a- No! This belongs in a museum." JB intervened as JJ kept gushing over the cross. The trio behind them was confused, because it was neither of their decision to make. It was Pope's and his family's.

"They're so stupid." Jocelyn muttered under her breath as they continued to argue, shaking her head in disapproval.

"Hey! It's my ancestors' cross!" Pope finally spoke up, making the girls besides him proud. The two glanced at the rest, raising an eyebrow with a smile. JJ just realised that two of his best friends with his girlfriend was a team he was gonna fear for life.
