Ghost Town

Chapter 4

Janet opened her eyes slowly, taking in the sight of a really dark room, unpainted with one door and one window.

She looked around to see Maddie and Iris still unconscious.

She felt really weak and sore , she tried crawling to Maddie but was stopped by a sharp pain in her head so she decided to call out to her instead.

"Maddie, Maddie, Maddie, wake up", she said in a low tone almost whispering.

Maddie sat up so fast like as though she just woke up from a terrible nightmare. She held her head groaning.

"Oh my God, why does it hurt so bad? where are we?", she asked as she looked around the room before noticing Iris.

"Iris, wake up, this is not the time to be asleep" Maddie yelled.

"Iris!", she yelled again while tapping her.

Iris woke up slowly, seeing Maddie and Janet looking directly into her eyes.

"Maddie? Janet?, she asked as if she wasn't seeing clearly.

"Where the hell are we?"Iris asked

"We have no idea", Janet replied.

"Well, obviously, we have been kidnapped", Maddie said seeming very sure of her statement.

"Wait, what!", Iris exclaimed, "no way, my bed, my dog, my parents, my phooooooooooooone", cried Iris.

"That's right, our phones", Janet said reaching down into her pocket, "now who said pockets in prom gowns wouldn't come in handy".

"Whatever, just try calling someone", ordered Maddie.

"Wait a minute,where are our own phones?", asked Iris.

"Right, it was in my purse", Maddie replied.

"Me too", Iris said.
"Don't bother, they are both gone", Janet said bluntly.

"Don't you dare say that, my phone is my life, everything I have is in there", Iris sobbed.

"Don't be pathetic, our top priority right now is to look for a way out of here", Maddie said.

"I don't think that's possible because there is absolutely no cell service here", Janet informed them.

"You have to find, I will try to find a way out", Maddie said.

"What about me? What am I going to be doing?", Iris complained.

"Just", Maddie paused, "just stay there quietly and look cute", Maddie continued.

Maddie got up and headed for the window and tried opening it but it wouldn't budge.
She groaned and went ahead to try the door but it was also locked.

She looked around for something, anything at all she could use to pick the lock but couldn't find anything, the room was bare.
She put her hand on her head trying to think, in the process she felt a hair clip.

"Aha", she said with a smile on her face. Her front hair dropped as she removed it.

She had seen this in a lot of movies so it wouldn't be that hard, she thought to herself. She opened the clip wider and put one end into the keyhole of the door, tried turning it left, right and left again.

She heard the door unlock, "I did it, I opened it," she jumped in happiness.

Janet and iris got up as fast as they could and headed straight for the door.

They all walked thought the door into another dark area, but this one felt bigger.

"It took you guys long enough", they could hear someone say from a distance.
