"No! Of course not. I just recently found out, right after my mom had pleaded with your mom about the grounding", Maya defended,
"and besides, she didn't tell me anything about you, she didn't even know you were an aitu until your dad came here this morning. And to be fair, we aren't exactly best of friends for me to share such a vital information about my family history"."Yeah, of course, I'm sorry. You didn't know I was part of any of it so you didn't see the need to tell me cos we weren't really friends, it's fine, I get it", maddie apologized.
"Okay, good, unpack your stuff, I'll call you when it's time for dinner", Maya said before leaving the room.
"Oh my gosh", Maddie said letting out a sigh, "this is crazy".
Not less than five minutes later, maddie's phone rang.
She put her hand in her pocket, brought it out and checked the screen for who was calling.
"Dylan, hey",
"Hey, wanted to check up on you, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, why would you ask that?"
"Nothing really, just that you kinda like stormed out of our conversation yesterday, you seemed like you were in a lot of pain".
"I'm fine Dylan, it was nothing. I just got bored, that's all",
"You got bored? You looked like you were hurting, a lot",
"Dylan, no offence though but I'm not sure I really owe you an explanation okay, I've told you I'm fine, I'm okay, alright? Thanks for asking though, bye", Maddie said and ended the call immediately.
Maddie took her time unpacking, gave her time to clear her head. She waited a little expecting to be called for dinner but no one came so she decided to go to the kitchen.
Laura saw Maddie coming towards the kitchen, "Hey little Rivers, you must be hungry, dinner will be ready soon", she assured.
"Can I help with anything?", Maddie asked
"You can help set the table", Maya suggested.
"O-okay, uhhmm, how do I do that?", Maddie asked, confused.
"Wait, have you never set a table before?", Laura asked, stopping what she was doing.
"Not really, we have someone that does it for us, my nanny nora",
"Oh my God", Maya whispered under her breath, lowering her head and placing one hand on her face.
"I'm sorry", Maddie apologized
"It's okay. The plates and spoons are in the cabinet right above you. Just keep one each on the table for the three of us with one glass cup each.", Laura instructed.
"The glass cups are here", Maya said, gesturing her hand towards the cups.
Maddie set the table while laura and Maya finished up the cooking.
Laura and Maya talked quite a bit as they ate, Maddie on the other hand barely spoke a word.
"Okay girls, I'm giving you tonight to loosen up a bit, training starts tomorrow. We don't have time to waste, for all we know, Chris might have already completed his plan on how he would kill us all".
"Yes ma'am", Maya and Maddie said at the same time.

Maddie woke up to a very loud knock on her door"Get packing, we don't have all day", Laura said from outside the room, loud enough for the two girls to hear.
Maddie got up slowly, rubbing her eyes. She turned to see that everywhere was still dark.
