Jameela's Nikkah.
Hayat's Pov.
Today is Jameela's Nikkah but I knew that her mother has been opposed to her marrying Waleed.
Why?
Because he isn't rich like Aayan or like my papa. But what matters is how he will treat and take care of her.
Money will matter but what if the couple is always going to fight and be unhappy with each other and the cause of it is money?
Aayan is worried about me attending Jameela's Nikkah because he thinks that Maryam will try and do something to me so I asked him to accompany us.
Me, Azaan, Sameera, and also Zahir who is acting like his wife's bodyguard.
"Aayan, stop worrying. Besides, you will be by my side the entire time. And you had me invite your police friend and his wife at this engagement. Please stop worry, habiby", I tell him as I finish tying my hijab.
I was already dressed waiting for his royal highness meaning Aayan to finish getting ready.
I had already helped Azaan to get dressed and he is in the living room with Sameera and Zahir waiting for us as we will be going together to the venue.
Aayan looked at me and shook his head. I know that he must be wondering why am I going there after what they did to me.
Well, it is simple. You learn how to forgive and let go of the past. Holding a grudge is nothing but poison in your life. And it will affect your future relationships with your family, children, and also friends.
I choose to be happy and not to think about the past. Jameela had asked for forgiveness and I forgave her. It isn't something worth thinking about for me that is.
And the case of her mother being involved in that accident. I have already spoken to Jameela about and what she said shocked me as I didn't expect it from her especially if she is her mother.
"Let the law decide, Hayat. I know my mother and she is the type of woman that will never let go of her grudge and revenge against you. If the new evidence leads to her then I will support you because what we did wasn't right. I did it because of her. She kept telling that I wasn't enough in Papa's eyes but I was. All I am saying is that if she is guilty then Allah knows what will happen to her. Let the police do their work, Hayat".
"Am done, Hayat. Can we go now?", Aayan asks me. I looked at my husband trying not to laugh at his childish behavior but I couldn't hold it anymore.
"You are behaving like a child, Aayan. I know that you didn't want to go but she is still family to me. She has earned her forgiveness from me but why can't you forgive her?", I ask him calmly.
He then took a deep breath and sat beside me taking my hands with his.
"It isn't that I don't want to forgive her, its because everytime I see her and her mother, I remember the time I had to take you to the hospital after Maryam abused you. Do you know how hard it was for me to just stay calm? I stayed calm because of you, Hayat. If it was upto me, I would have sent Maryam to jail but just for you I didn't because you said we needed more evidence against her. Hayat, when I saw you looking at me with tears in your eyes that day, I felt that I coudnt protect you", he says to me. "And that day of the accident was the worse day of my life when I saw Azaan's clothes that were drenched in your blood and when I saw you at the hospital. I felt useless because I couldn't keep you safe", he added as his eyes shined with unshed tears.
"I know all that Aayan but Allah tells us to forgive those who wronged us. I have forgiven the both of them so should you. I am not saying that Maryam shouldn't be punished for what she did or doing. All I am saying is that Jameela is trying to change and we should give her a chance to do that by going to her Nikkah and supporting her. Come on, they are waiting for us", I tell him wiping his tears.
"And this is why you are perfect for me. And don't say that you aren't perfect", he says holding my hand and leading us down the stairs.
Aayan's Pov.
It is official, I have fallen in love with Hayat. Love was something that I thought I would never experience again after Zainab.
But Alhamdullilah Hayat is proof that I can fall in love again.
I looked at her and wondered how she lived with Maryam all her life. When she has done nothing but abuse her all these years.
I couldn't blame her father for it as Hayat covered it very well.
"The lovebirds are now ready. Let's go. Zain and Fayza are already there", Sameera says as we walk down the stairs.
Azaan quickly ran to Hayat who then carried him in her arms.
"Mamma, you look beautiful...Ma..."
"Ma shaa Allah," Hayat completed his sentence.
"Yes", he says kissing her cheek and she does the same to him.
We all headed to the car and drove to the venue. I prayed that everything would go smoothly.
In shaa Allah.
As we were approaching the venue, Hayat squeezed my hand and smiled at me.
Thank you, Hayat for being in my life. Alhamdullilah.
Zahir then parked the car and we got out and walked inside the venue.
Everything was arranged beautifully but the mood suddenly changed when I saw Maryam talking to some guests.
I held Hayat close to me while Azaan was in her arms. I didn't want to let them go.
I will protect my family no matter what happens to me.
"Relax, Habiby", Hayat whispers in my ears as Zain approaches us with his wife Fayza and their son Fahd who is the same age as Azaan.
"Asalam Aleikum", Zain greeted us.
"Waleikum salaam", I answered him then I introduced Hayat to him and his wife.
They have been married for almost 8 years.
Ma Shaa Allah.
"I am sorry for putting you upto this. I needed closure before anything else....."
Hayat says to Zain.
"It is nothing besides, I like to help my friends when they are in need of my help. So Aayan and you are my friends", Zain says smiling while his wife nods.
"Thank you".
We then took our seats and waited for Jameela to arrive as the groom had already arrived.
She arrived and took a seat.
The Kadhi started with a Dua before asking both Waleed and Jameela if they agreed to their marriage.
Both of them say I do and then sign the marriage certificate. Hayat then stood up to go and congratulate Jameela but I couldn't let her go alone so she went with both Fayza and Sameera.
"Mabrouk, Jameela. I am so happy for you", Hayat tells her and then hugs her.
"Thank you so much, Hayat. And thank you for coming. I know we haven't been the best of friends but I would like to start, if that's okay with you?", she asks my wife who smiles and nods yes to her.
"She is a great person, Aayan. She forgave her even when she didn't stop abusing her. Hayat, she lives upto her name", Zain tells me looking at Hayat who is laughing and smiling with Jameela.
"She is one of a kind. I am thankfull to Allah that He brought her into mine and Azaan's life. She had made it better for us", I tell him.
Zain, Zahir, and I have been friends for a long time but Zain decided to join the police force instead of going into a business like me and Zahir.
I laugh as Azaan runs to her trying to get away from Fahd as they are playing.
Alhamdullilah. I love you Hayat. My wife.
We forgive to move on with our lives and not hold any type of grudge.
