Epilogue.

Every Ending has a new beginning.

Happy Twenty-Second Anniversary To Hayat And Aayan.

Hayat's Pov.

Being surrounded by the people you love and who love you back is the most precious thing that you could ever experience in your life.

Looking at what my life is like now, I can say that Allah does know best for us.

Alhamdullilah.

It has been almost 22 years since I married the man who gave me what I needed the most apart from Papa.

Aayan Muhsin, the father of my children and the love of my life. Today is our anniversary get-together.

It wasn't our idea but our children's idea.

They wanted Aayan and me to have time alone. But I am worried about Azaan as he has been so distant from me.

I know that now he is practically an adult and might not need me but as a mother, you worry about your children no matter what age they are.

They are still your children.

"What are you thinking about Hayat", my husband asks me.

"I am thinking about how lucky I am to have found such a great husband and a wonderful father to our children. So thank you Habiby", I tell him making him smile.

"I should thank you, My Hayat. You came into my life when I needed someone like you. Someone who didn't give up on me, us being a family. Thank you, My Hayat", he replies kissing me on my forehead.

Some people will say that arranged marriages don't work. They do when both the husband and wife are in it together. If they want to work the marriage out.

No marriage is perfect.

There's no such thing as a perfect marriage or even perfect kids.

Perfection isn't real.

"But I am worried about Azaan. He hasn't been himself ever since Faryal's wedding to Fahd", I explain to Aayan. "Maybe there was something going on between them....."

"Hayat, if something has happened between them. You would be the first person to know. Because Azaan comes to you for every single thing he needs", Aayan interrupts me.

I know what he is saying is true but what if I missed the signs?

Faryal wasn't a nice girl, to be honest. Whenever she would come home to see Iman, there was always a quarrel between them.

Iman hasn't told me anything yet.

Ya Allah, help me guide my children to the right path. My sons Azhar, and Azaan, and my daughter Iman.

All a parent could do for their children is pray for them that Allah will ease their suffering.

Aayan's Pov.

If someone told me that I would find love again, I would most definitely disagree with them. But now I know that a second chance at happiness does exist.

Alhamdullilah, for Hayat coming into my life and making me believe that second chances do exist.

Today is our twenty anniversary and our kids planned a surprise for us.

"What do you think they will give us?", I asked my wife.

"No I don't know. Maybe you do?", she says smiling.

I shook my head at her. Knowing what our kids might do, we both hoped it wasn't a bad thing.

I know that Hayat has been worried about Azaan due to the change in his behaviour. But I always tell her to let him deal with it on his own but knowing how my wife is that wouldn't be possible.

In about five minutes, there's a knock on the door letting us know that it could either be Azaan or even Iman.

I stood up, opening the door to let her in.

"Okay, we are ready for you", Iman tells us. We then followed her down the stairs and into the living room.

"What are you guys planning?", Hayat asks our daughter who just smiled at us.

When we reached the living room, everyone was there waiting for us. Our friends, and family.

Okay, so they are here. Now it's time for their anniversary gift", Azhar says.

"Yeah and the gift of tolerating everything you put them through", Azaan added making everyone laugh at the comment.

"Anyways before they try and make this day about themselves, here mamma and dad. This is your gift from all of us", Iman tells us.

She then handed us an envelope. I took it from her and opened it to find two plane tickets to Hajj and Umra for me and Hayat.

Hayat and I looked at each other and smiled knowing that they had given us the best gift that anyone could get from their family.

"Thank you everyone for this. We really appreciate this", I thank them smiling.

"Yes, thank you everyone", Hayat tells our children who came to hug us.

We both kiss and hug them making them smile. They are no longer kids.

Azaan is about to take over the company and Iman and Azhar are done with high school and on their way to college.

Alhamdullilah.

We then sat down and started talking about many things.

I looked over to see Saira staring at Azaan without blinking while he doesn't even pay attention to her.

I nudged Hayat using my elbow and pointed at our son and Saira.

She nodded and smiled. I know that Azaan wouldn't do anything to hurt her but I will have to talk to him.

Hayat and I made a promise to let our kids talk to us about anything and everything they have. We wanted them not to be afraid to talk to us about anything that they wanted to.

As parents, we are worried about our kids, but we should also let them make their own mistakes so that they can learn from them.

We can't always be there to bail them out when they are in trouble.

"Habiby, are you alright?", Hayat asks when she realizes that I wasn't even listening to Zahir.

"Yes I am fine Habibty. Just thinking about Azaan and the way he has been acting. I know that we decided to let our kids to come to us when they have a problems. But I can't see him in pain", I said to her.

She put her hand on my shoulder and smiled letting me know that I was right.

"I know that Habiby but he is also a grown up. When he needs us, he will come to us. Besides, I know that maybe Saira is the one to take him out of his shell. I trust Allah and so should you. Now come on, let's go and have dinner before it gets cold", she says taking my hand and leading me to the dining room where everyone was waiting for us.

Alhamdullilah.

The ending isn't always the end of things. It could also mean the beginning of many great things.
