The Host's POV.

Augh... My head...

"Well, duh. You bashed it in. Are you okay?"

"Yeah."

"Good thinking with manipulating the Police like that. I don't think the girl is doing okay, though. You know how-"

"-unnatural that was... yes, I do..." I rolled my eyes. "I didn't want them to come in and think she did it, or... worse..."

"You're right. See if she's doing alright."

"I'm scared to."

"It'll be okay."

I sigh. "You can do this. You can do this."

"The Host, his head injury disappearing, emerges from the bedroom."

My head injury is gone. I can think a little clearer, now.

"The Host... notices the lady on the couch."

She turns her head to me. Oh, I look like a mess, don't I?!

"Bud, calm down. You got this."

"The Host, in a soft spoken voice, asks the lady; 'Ma'am, are you alright?'"

"I'm okay, I'm more worried about you! Are you okay? I saw you on the floor, and- and- and your head! Your eyes!! So much blood, did you already take care of it all?! We really need to get you to the hospital, you're all... third-person talking... are you okay?"

Her worried eyes made the insult less hurtful. What do I say, though? She thinks my head injury caused me to talk normally...

"The Host insists that he doesn't have a head injury any more, and is quite okay. He touches his head, and smiles softly." I hope she understand this is how I normally talk.

"Okay... y-your eyes. They need to be checked out-"

"The Host shakes his head, and covers his face with his hands! There is no need to deal with his eyes, as they too were perfectly alright!" Please don't!!

"Calm down. Calm down. She's trying to understand."

"O-Okay... I'm... I'm sorry, I think I need to go." The lady turns around.

"The-... N-No, wait. Please d-don't go." I remove my hands from my face. They were slightly covered in blood.

She hesitates to leave, then ultimately decides not to.

"Listen, please stop narrating everything. I don't know if that's your thing, but the way- it's freaking me out. Especially since you're narrating me."

I am? Oh dear, did she hear my thoughts?

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't r-realise you heard m-my th-houghts."

"Oh...? I didn't... You actually said it out loud..." She rubbed the back of her neck, awkwardly. I'm such a disaster.

"Host, don't put yourself down. It's okay."

"Oh, I'm so s-sorry!! Uh..." I sigh. "P-Please, sit d-down. I w-would like to exp-plain m-myself." I gesture towards the couch. "W-Would you like something to d-drink? Or eat?"

"Sir- Er... Host... You're very kind and everything, but everything happened so fast. So... weirdly. I think I need to sleep it off at my own home." She looked at me. She's a little pale...

"O-Okay... I'm sorry, miss...?"

"(Y/N)." A small smile formed on her face.

"(Y/N). I'm s-so sorry for everyth-hing. Pl-lease, I w-would like to h-have you over t-tomor-rrow. I pr-romise this w-won't happen ag-gain." I bowed down, and she giggled.

"I would love to come over tomorrow, then. Same time, a little later, or a little earlier?

"How-w about an hour earl-lier?"

"An hour earlier. Got it. See you tomorrow, Host." A full smile now.

"S-See you t-tomorrow, (Y/N)." I smiled back, and she waved, and left.

I miss you already.

"I do too. Come on, we need to clean up, the blood is still here, just a little."

Oh, I completely forgot. Hopefully it isn't stained.

"The Host walks to his laundry room, grabs a few cleaners, and brings them out to the bloodied floor."

As I clean this up, I think about her. How her name rolled off my tongue without stuttering.

I miss you already...

"hey, is (y/n) able to hear author?" no.

"should she be?" no.

"why are there quotes around author talking then, it sounds like he's saying it out-loud" good thing i italicised it so it's like looking at internal dialog, lol

... so, yeah. anything host says, obviously not italicised. anything author says, will be italicised and in quotes, too. mostly bc i didnt realise i did that in the first few chapters, but no point in removing 'em now, since its just gonna be hella confusing ngl

... actuallyy tf am i saying, this whole ass book is confusing with the perspectives n shit LOOOL

thanks for reading though :)
