Next day...
(Y/N) POV.
Auuuughhhh... I rub my head. What happend yesterday?
Oh! That's right, I went to the park with (Fr/N), talked about our cosplay...
Ah, what else? Oh, oh! Streamed some Minecraft, yeaah! That's right!
Well, I should probably see the man again. He told me to come over today, since he'd do a 1 day clean, haha. I get ready and head over to... ah, the alleyway... wasn't there an address? Shoot, I think I'll be able to see it. It's by the thrift-store, so it shouldn't be too hard to find!
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
I arrive at the thrift-sto- WOOAH! When did THIS beauty come in?! Two story house, right smack-dab in the middle of the thrift-store and some other shop. Is this the correct place, though??
I knock on the door, and it's slightly open. I poke my head in. "Hello? Mr. Mystery Man, it's me from yesterday, the lady with the coat? Your door was open..." My voice fades as I take in the beautiful interior. It was like a ballroom! So huge on the inside! But yet, so tiny on the outside!
"Ah, c-come in! I'll be j-just a m-moment..."
I walk in and close the door behind me, still star-struck on how beautiful this guys' house is. I can't wrap my head around it, though. How did an alleyway become a two-story house in under a day?!
"W-Welcome to my h-home!" The Mystery Man comes-
"Sweet lord your eyes!" I cover my mouth almost immediately. Stupid ass! You don't say that to someone you just met!! "Oh. My. God. I am so sorry. I didn't mean it like that, I- I-"
"It's o-okay. Lots of p-people have said that b-before. I d-don't mind." He gives me a friendly smile. It makes me feel worse than shit, now. Poor dude... "I c-can tell you're a l-little upset aft-ter your c-com-m-m-ment, yes? Take a l-look around, I'll get some r-r-refreshm-m-ments while you do so." Another smile, and off to the kitchen he goes.
"Uh, t-thank you...?" What a great introduction to yourself, (Y/N). God damn, I gotta apologise to him somehow. Maybe a nice dinner somewhere? Oooh, something shiny just caught my eye! I walk over to another area of his home and see a typewriter, a radio set, and some headphones. They're in a thick glass case. So shiny, too!! Oh, a little placard.
"The Author's Set." Hmm! I wonder who this mysterious 'Author' is?
"Oh! Y-You f-found my old st-tuff. Heh, it's a l-l-little outd-dated, huh?" The man holds out a plate of-... okay, he's got my favourite little snacks on the plate, along with my favourite drink. This is either a major coincidence or creepy as hell. I'm taking it as a major coincidence!
I try to make some sort of small-talk. "No way, these are your favourite snacks too?!"
He chuckles. "Heh, sure. I like j-just about anyth-thing. Here, sit."
He puts the food on the-...
I point at this randomly appearing table. "Where did that table come from?"
"It w-was behind you. D-Did you not s-see it?"
"No. It was an empty area. Your set was the only thing in here."
He sighs. "... Y-Y-eah, you're right. I sh-should prob-b-bably exp-plain."
"Please do, because if I'm in a fun house, you atleast need to tell your guests, first." I cross my arms. He chuckled at that. Unfortunately, I was being serious. I won't tell him, though. We both sit down at this magical table, and he folds his hands and places them down.
"I'm g-going to ex-xplain to you s-somethi-ing comp-p-plicat-ted. Are y-you ok-kay with that?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Uh, yes?"
"Okay." He clears his throat. "M-My name used t-to be The Auth-thor, but now it's The H-Host. That is m-my old equip-pment for story-tel-lling. I n-n-narrated everyth-thing since I l-lost the ability to s-see. It, in a w-way, helps me c-c-cope."
The man-... sorry. Host pauses for a moment. "I'm following." I reply.
"Th-hank you. I'm not n-narrating this m-m-moment because, unfort-tunately, we would b-both know what you're th-thinking, what I-I'm thinking, and w-what our n-next actions will b-b-be." He pauses again.
"Okay... now I'm a little lost. What??"
"Would you l-like me to d-demonstrate it?"
"Please do." I-
"(Y/N) couldn't believe what she was hearing. 'Narrating my thoughts? My actions?' She thought to herself. The Host, willing to help her understand, began narrating."
... What the fuck.
What the fuck?!
I need to leave and legit skip town now.
"The Ho-.. Ahem, s-sorry. Please, don't go."
"I... I don't know who you are... what you are, but that is... this is... too much for me to handle."
"(Y/N), please. I w-want to help you."
"Help me with what, trying to stay and understand whatever kind of wizardry-shit this is? You just narrated my thoughts, I-"
"I know what h-he did."
...
"He's l-looking for you."
"You have 5 minutes."
"He's waiting at y-your ap-partment. He has a sil-l-lencer on his g-gun. If you go b-back, you're dead."
"How do you know this? Are you narrating him to kill me?"
"Abs-s-solutely not. I wouldn't want a s-soul to hurt you."
That's... kind of touching, actually... "So... what do I do?"
"I c-can provide for you and prot-t-tect you while he's in t-town."
Well, I'm either dead or stuck with... I look at Host.
"Did you hear what I said?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Um..." If I was able to see his eyes, he'd be looking away from me.
"Turn around."
"Okay." He turns around.
So, anyway, I'm either dead, or I'm stuck with crazy-wizard.
"... Did you hear what I said?"
"... Yeah. Ev-ven if I turn ar-round. Sorry..."
I sigh. "No, I'm sorry. But you're still a wizard guy to me... no offence."
"N-None is t-taken." He gives me a... Oh, you'll hear me anyway. Your smile is nice. He awkwardly chuckles.
