Chapter 5: First Job

I woke up in my bed and didn't realize the time. I pulled out my phone and when I saw the time I freaked out. I immediately jumped out of my bed and rushed to get ready, and grabbed the house keys and hopped onto my bike. I went as fast as I could to get to my first day at work.

I pulled into the gas station that I work at. I got inside and apologized to my boss and told him that I accidentally didn't wake up on time. Thankfully he understood, and let me get away with it this time.

"Thank you Mr. Wells" I said.

"My pleasure," Mr. Wells said. "Just try not to be late next time."

"I will." I said.

So he walked me through what I'm supposed to do today. And he told me that when closing up make sure to clean the bathroom. He told me I didn't have to clean the women's bathroom because he would have his daughter come in and help me with closing up.

After he walked me through the cleaning and closing process he left. I knew there was one other person here, they were at the cash register to help with anyone who wanted to buy anything. I just walked around and stocked the shelves, and cleaned up everything.

Time passed bye slowly, but I got everything Mr. Wells told me to do. So I walked up to the cash register and asked the guy:

"What should I do? I have gotten everything Mr. Wells told me to do."

"Just go to the other register and stand there." He said. "When someone goes to check out, scan it and get the money and give them a receipt."

"Okay." I said.

After a few hours, I got my first customer and I did what the guy told me to do. After that I felt kinda comfortable with checking out people when they walk over. But I never guessed what would happen when the next customer walked in.

When the next customer walked in, I saw that he had a duffle bag. He was a bit suspicious but the other employee told me to ignore it.
