"So Quintavious, where are we going?" I asked, packing away the last of what few things we had in the back of his car.

Q let out a long sigh, leaning his head down as he propped his arms on the side of the trunk giving me a side eye, muttering something like 'I shouldn't have told you guys my name,' before speaking up, "Why don't you tell me?"

I shrugged, "I don't need to use my powers when you can just tell me."

"Well it is the rouge way to travel, so we're just going to travel up north towards the mountains."

"Is there a base there?"

"No, but that's where we've been gathering," Q finished organizing everything and then shut the trunk. Zach was already in the driver's seat, waiting for us, looking like he wanted to just wanted to be anywhere but here.

I could see why, or hear why. As soon I slipped into the back with Archer, Archer was in the middle of talking Zach's ear off with one of his childish tangents. Something about dinosaurs and cars.

"Archer hon," I go into my backpack, pulling out his book, "Why don't you let Zach concentrate on driving and read."

"Ok." Archer went straight back into the story, his brows furrowing in concentration. He was so cute, it made me smile.

I look to the front, noticing Zach giving me a thank-you look in the rearview mirror as he started driving. Q sat in the passenger seat, turning to look at me, well more like stare at me.

"What?" I say in a laughy tone.

"Nothing," he smiled, his eyes softening, "Just making sure you were real."

I let out a little giggle, seeing it was such a strange thing to say, but seeing how he kept staring at me I felt heat begin to grow on my cheeks and ears.

"You're adorable," Q added, getting a scoff from Zach who once again looked very uncomfortable. Q's cheesiness even got Archer to snort, but pretended to be very invested in his book.

"You're being very weird," I avert my eyes to read over Archer's head, "When did you get a book on werewolf history." I frowned, running my eyes over the page he was reading at it was simply about anatomy and how there isn't any human potions that have worked on wolves.

"I found it in Q's stuff," he answered simply, "Don't worry I left the bookmarks about the seer and notes about you."

My eyes shot forward again to Q now conveniently looking out the window and a very tense Zach who really looks like he wants to self-destruct in his seat.

"Archer don't go through someone else's stuff, it's rude," I scolded, but didn't bother taking it away from him.

"I'm sorry," he mumbled, about to close the book but I stopped him.

"You need to apologize to Q, Archer, you went through his things," I corrected.

"I'm sorry Q," Archer closed the book and pushed it forward to give it back to Q.

"It's alright," Q pushed it back into his hands, "You need to learn about our kind's history."

"Okay," Archer beamed and ripped the book back open and began furiously reading. "Marina what's this word?"

"Asphyxiate," I calmly spoke.

"What does it mean?" Archer asked innocently.

"To die by choking or being unable to breath," I caught a glimpse of both the gentlemen in the front giving me questionable looks, "What?"

"He's a kid," Q frowned.

"Don't question my parenting methods," I scowled, "Archer is old enough to learn the dark sides of the world."

"Marina is a great mom," Archer piped up as he read, "She taught me everything I know."

"I don't doubt that at all," Q chuckled, going back to staring deep into my face, like he was studying every detail of my face. "She's an amazing person."

I felt my cheeks heat up as I stuffed my face right into Archer's book, only to catch something really scary, "Whoa-a-aa," I grabbed the book and skipped straight past the rather spicy description of the mating process.

I caught a smirk Q had on his dumb handsome face, and immediately looked out the window, trying to scowl again but his eyes never left my face.

"Stop staring at her, it's creepy," Archer snapped, snapping the book shut to emphasize his little anger burst, "She's my mom not yours."

"She's my mate," Q sneered back with equal anger.

Not this again.

"Who cares about that," Archer scoffed, suddenly flopping onto my lap and wrapping his arms around my waist, his book long forgotten on the other side of him. "Marina is my mom and mom tops being your mate."

"Well since I'm your father and she's my mate, that makes her your mommy mommy." Q explained like he was winning this rather childish argument.

"Fine," Archer grumbled into my stomach, "That's so stupid."

"Archer," I giggled, "you're so cute."

"I'm not cute!" Archer sat up, a horrified expression on his face,

"You are cute," I booped his nose, smiling at the little scrunch his nose made, "And you're my little cutey."

"No!" He pouted, turning around and crossing his arms.

"Aw I'm sorry Archer," I hugged him from the back, "You're not cute, you're my strong little man."

I caught Q watching both of us, smiling but it wasn't reaching his eyes. they were distant. He was definitely thinking about a life like this. It was so peaceful in the car, only to be ruined but a sharp headache that made me wince, catching the attention of both of my boys.

"Marina!" They both said at the same time.

"What's wrong?"

"You okay?"

They were still speaking at the same time which I would consider cute if my head didn't feel like it was being ripped apart.

Suddenly flashes of broken glass and Q and Zach being jerked violently forward and my arms instinctively wrapped around Archer to protect him as another car slammed straight onto us.

"Zach swerve!" I screamed unbuckling my seat and grabbing the steering wheel, right over his shoulder and yanking it so he changed lanes and dodged the oncoming car that skipped the barrier definitely to kill us. I looked straight into the car, catching a glimpse of a crazed looking person in the driver's seat.

"Holy shit!" Zach took back control of the wheel as soon as I let go settling back into my seat to suffer through my headache more, feeling a comforting small hand on my back.

"Are you okay?" Archer asked, not even rattled by the possible death we all could of had.

"Y-yeah?" I rubbed my temples. It was strange. I've never had a sudden vision like this, especially for something that was literally seconds away.

Something was very wrong.

And sharing a concerned looks with Q, I held onto Archer, feeling his warmth.
