"Oh man.. don't tell me the electricity is cut off..", Anu said sighing as she pressed the switch on and off constantly in the hope that the lights would turn on.

"It's been almost a year since we were here.. I guess it is off.", Anuj said sighing as he loosened his tie.
It weather was cool in this side of the city. Cool breeze blew outside. Anuj walked down to the windows and opened them for some air.
"Tch.. Why can't you keep paying for the electricity-"
"Why do you even need electricity? I mean we are here for stuff that doesn't really need lights.", Anuj said grinning mischievously.
Anu sighed, amused, blushing deeply.

"I dunno if this is a good thing.. leaving kids at home and..", Anu said awkwardly.
"Everything is fair is love and war, babe.", Anuj said walking down to her. The farmhouse was rather big, with a comparatively large living room, two master bedrooms, lawn and a gym.
"So where to tonight?", Anuj asked removing a strand of hair from over her face.
Anu wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Terrace maybe.", She said with a wink.

Anuj grinned.
"I had guessed it.", He said with a wink. He turned to head upstairs when she held him by his wrist.
"What?"
"Anuj, can we talk?", She asked softly.
"Obviously.", He said pausing and walking back to her.
"Look, very frankly whatever I said that day was true. I really need to clear this up with you. We can't be ignoring the obvious.", She said sighing.
"I understand, it's your self guilt that makes you care for him so much. I really don't care about it anymore.", Anuj said, glad that he was armed against Vanraj for once.

Anu sighed.
"Anuj, he likes me more than he should.", She stated.
Anuj looked at her with a raised brow.
"You know?"
"I obviously know. I am not blind. And for all I know he is not here for cupcakes and theplas, I know his intentions may not be that of a very sweet ex to stand and the corner and watch me be happy.. But he is not a villian.", She said, almost justifying Vanraj.

Anuj drew in a sharp breath. He wanted to tell her about the ever so pious villian but chose against it.

"Anu, it's fine. I am glad you know his not so sweet intentions. That's what matters.", Anuj said cupping her face.
She held his hand.
"I missed your touch, man.", She said grinning to herself.
"Ah, I am like a drug you see.", He said edging closer to her. Her lips broke into a smile as she looked up at him.
She edged closer and placed her lips on his softly.
He instantly pulled her into a kiss.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, diving deep into the emotion. They parted after a while.
"I have been kissing you for years, and it just never gets old.", He said impressed.
She had started unbuttoning his shirt.
"I am ever new, boy.", She said pecking his lips yet again.
"Head upstairs then?", He asked as he instantly lifted her in his arms, the bridal style.

"We'll stay the same forever?", Anu asked softly.
"Forever and beyond.", He replied as he climbed up the staircase.

.

Next morning, Anuj Kapadia woke up snuggled in the blanket on the terrace of his farmhouse. There was not a single house even close by so technically they were in an isolated location with not a care of the world.

It was early morning, maybe five.
"Anu.. wake up.. gotta get back home.", He said as he opened his eyes to see the crack of dawn.
Anu lay with her head on his bare chest, sleeping in peace.
She had been finally sleeping in peace after seven years.

Anuj was lowkey thankful for that.
Otherwise she was always the one who would wake up early and then wake him up by turning off the fan like a typical Indian mom.

"Lemme sleep Prince Charming.", She mumbled hugging him tighter.
"Anupamaaaa.. wake upppp...", He said nagging, like she often did. She opened her eyes and looked at him in annoyance.
"Huh! You go, I am sleeping. I need some peace.", She said snuggling in the crook of his neck.
He carresed her hair.
"You want me to go?", He asked softly.
She looked at him and her lips broke into a smile.
She kissed him on the cheek.

"I don't. Ever.", She said softly, "I just want you to be here with me."
"Why do you love me so much?", He asked looking at her. Their faces stood only inches apart.
"You fit into my heart perfectly, Kapadia sahab. I can't help but fall in love with you.", She said grinning like a sixteen year old in love.

She could probably never grow up while she was with him. She liked to be the small kid.

"Wise men say... only fools rush in...", Anuj started, trying very hard to sound like Elvis Priestly, "But I.. can't help.. falling in lovee with you..."

Anu joined in, "Shall I stay.. would it be a sin.. for I can't help... falling in love.. with.. you.."

And then both of them broke into a giggle.
.

Vanraj sat back with a Rubik's cube in his hand, his fingers constantly turning and adjusting to solve it. He sat back in his office cabin, his eyes fixed on the cube.
He hadn't slept the whole night.
There was a sharp knock at the door.
"Who?", He asked.
"Raghu.", Came the reply. Raghu was the man he had fixed in India for any kind of emergencies there. He was also the man who had been watching over Malvika while she was trying to make theplas.

"Hmm.", Vanraj replied.
"Boss, Malvika madam has called you.", He said.
"For?"
"You know she is getting engaged to that Surya. She wants you to join her.", Raghu said matter of fact-ly.
"She has a brother for all you know.", Vanraj said finally looking up.
Raghu looked at him in confusion.
"What has happened Boss?", He asked instantly.
"Anuj Kapadia knows about the death of Zener. He threatened me. And I need to know how on earth does he know it.", Vanraj said sharply as he stood up.

"What?! Oh God.. This is bad.", Raghu said thoughtfully.
Vanraj sat on the desk looking down, clearly tensed.
"He is a ticking time bomb. That messiah of virtue will open his mouth irrespective of what I do.", Vanraj stated.
"But that will be wrong! All of us know that Zener deserved to die! You shot him for good.", Raghu said in rebellion.
Vanraj looked at his hand, the lines on it.
"Take over Imperium after me, anyways Ignis dissolves after I-"
"Don't you say that, Boss.", Raghu said sharply.

Vanraj looked at him amused.
"I will tell that Anuj Kapadia that he cannot-"
"No.", Vanraj said, "My doom is inevitable, it is anyways just a matter of time."

Raghu looked at him, deeply unimpressed.
He had never seen his Boss give up, but now he could clearly see.
The man had accepted his defeat.
"Loving that girl was always a losing game, Boss.", He said bitterly.
Vanraj raised his hand and looked at the engagement ring, still gleaming in the light.

"Small town boy, in a big arcade.. I got addicted to a losing game.", He smiled, satisfied with himself.

...

PROMO :

Vanraj stood silently looking down at the dead body.
"He! It is him! I told you boss to stop that Kapadia but-"
"You are sure he told Rehan?", Vanraj asked as a wild fury coursed through him.
Raghu wiped off a tear.
"It is."

"I told him to be out of this.", Vanraj stated, his voice going ice cold, "He will bear the consequences."
Raghu had heard this line before, and the next thing he had known was the death of Zener.

He knew, the devil had been nuked.

...

Short chapter with my best attempts at romance.
technically I wasn't going to add any romance but you demanded it so yeah... deal with my inability to write steamy scenes-
