The Sleepover

                                                                        The next morning Valenthia wakes up finding herself asleep on her bed the last she remembered she was doing research on her Great Aunt Wanda, Valenthia sits up and rubs her eyes and heads downstairs where her mother and father are sitting in the living room Valenthia then remembered what she did to her father she walks over and states still upset with herself a bit
"Father I am sorry for what I did"
"No Valenthia it is me who should be sorry I was the one who made you upset I shouldn't have been nasty about your breather friend you are correct he is a friend to you John and your mother made me see that he's been trying to help you I was wrong and I apologise" Valentino exclaims knowing how much he upset his daughter "In fact tonight after school you should bring him round so I can meet him"
"Father are you sure?" Valenthia asks wondering if her dad means it
"Of course little bat it was your mother's idea"
"I thought he should at least see where you live properly rather than through the gate" Anthia calmly states rubbing her belly smiling "I think it would be nice to have him round for dinner"
"Dinner?" Valenthia reiterates concerned that her mother and father want to drink his blood
"Yes dinner John said he would prepare a meal for all of us steak and chips and we will do our best to appear as a normal family" Anthia confirms with a smile "My little bat you thought we was going to drink his blood didn't you? no no dear we wouldn't eat your friend"
Valenthia gives a sigh of relief and then smiles
"Thanks Ma and Pa I love you both"
"We love you Valenthia" Valentino and Anthia smiles both of them hugging their daughter, Anthia then realised the time Anthia states
"Oh you should go to school take breakfast to go today"
Anthia almost hands her a blood bag but then realises and gives her the breakfast bar instead telling her
"John recommended these in case you ever wake up late "
"Thank you mum" Valenthia smiles taking the breakfast bar and goes with John to the school.
                                               Valenthia finishes the breakfast bar and puts the wrapper in the bin as she gets into the school she sits next to Robin once more still glad to have a friend she looks at Robin and smiles asking him
"hey Robin, I was wondering if you'd like to come to my house tonight as I saw yours yesterday?"
"I'd love that I'd have to ask my parents"
"Of course but my mum and dad are inviting you for dinner if you can't come tonight you can always come another night" Valenthia exclaims smiling
"Exactly but I do have a feeling my mum and dad will say yes" Robin replies smiling
Valenthia smiles as Mrs Taylor comes into the classroom to start teaching for the day, she smiles as she starts to cover various subjects but then Valenthia starts to really pay attention when it comes to history as Mrs Taylor starts talking about Wanda Valachovic Valenthia looks up as she was researching her last night that is her Great Aunt, Mrs Taylor writes the name on board then asks
"Would anyone like to hazard a guess of who Wanda Valachovic was? and what she did?"
"Witchcraft? and she got burned at the stake for it?" a little girl pipes up
"Not quite you got the witchcraft part correct" Mrs Taylor states then goes back to the board and starts writing  a family tree "Wanda Thompson as she was known back then was into herbs and witchcraft as you said Julia but it was who she married that made all the difference Wanda married Tomas Valachovic who owned the house at the end of this village and they in turn had a daughter Katerina Valachovic who then married Wilhelm Youngblood" Its at this moment she looks at Valenthia "We appear to be learning about your ancestors do you know any of this?"
"No Mrs Taylor I only know about my immediately family" Valenthia confirms, Mrs Taylor smiles and continues writing up the family tree as she speaks
"Wilhelm and Katerina Youngblood had a son called Jeremiah Youngblood who married Franchesca Conchetta and in turn they had a daughter Melina Youngblood and then we move onto Melina who married Franchesco Youngblood"
"My grandfather" Valenthia states to herself but Mrs Taylor heard her smiled and confirmed
"Correct who then had Valentino Youngblood who married your mother Anthia Richardson and then they had you Valenthia Youngblood but today we are going to concentrate on Wanda Valachovic she lived in the house at the end of this village for one hundred years the villagers were not sure of what her presence would bring but they did know that they didn't like her however she did not get burned at the stake but she was shuned by the community for being a witch they thought that if they allowed a witch to roam the village that they would be cursed so whenever Wanda ventured into the village to buy her herbs the other villagers avoided her gaze even the shopkeepers were wary when she was buying their wares so much so that half the time she got given the wares for free or sometimes got kicked out of the shop with nothing at all, as I understand it Valenthia you had to move from Transylvania to here any idea why?"
"I'm afraid I do not know I was a baby when we moved from what my father told me the village shunned us like they shunned Wanda which is why we moved here hoping we wouldn't be shunned again" Valenthia states looking at Mrs Taylor
"Well this is the 21st centuary now villages don't shun people nowadays there may be some people who aren't as understanding about what you are and sometimes it's  because of our ancestors or family that we get shunned"
Valenthia nods at this the school bell rings Mrs Taylor stands up
"Right class I want you to write a paper on Wanda Valachovic I will give you two weeks to turn it in and after lunch we will start on english"
As the class piles out of the room, Robin and Valenthia go to the front of the class with their bags now packed Robin asks
"Mum may I go to Valenthia's tonight her parents have offered to have me around for dinner"
"Yes of course and as it's the historic house of Wanda Valachovic it might help you with your paper so yes you may go there and if they are alright with it perhaps you could stay the night and come to school with Valenthia tomorrow morning ask them first of course" Mrs Taylor states
"Thank you mum and yes I shall" Robin replies smiling
"You have your mobile call me or text me to tell me what they say" Mrs Taylor tells Robin firmly but also slightly sternly
"I promise that I will mum" Robin agrees knowing her mother means it
"Right the pair of you better go to lunch" Mrs Taylor states with a smile.
 Valenthia and Robin head off to lunch and gets their food they sit down on a table on their own Robin looks at Valenthia and asks
"So did you really not know about your ancestors"
Valenthia shook her head then looked at Robin and remarks
"No I only knew about Franchesco and Melina my grandparents my mother only mentioned my great aunt Wanda last night I didn't even know we was going to learn about my ancestors today"
"Perhaps I could ask your parents about Wanda Valachovic"
Valenthia feels a lump rise in her throat unsure if he should ask his parents but she nods none the less and exclaims smiling
"You can ask my parents not sure how much they will tell you though however I am excited for you to come around and see my house"
"I cannot wait to see your house either it sounds exciting" Robin remarks also excited
Valenthia smiles and finishes her lunch and goes back to the classroom with Robin once he has finished what he is eating they go and sit down in their chairs.
                                              Later once school had finished Valenthia walks with Robin and John back to her house as they get back to the house John creaks the gate open alerting Valentino and Anthia to them returning home as it's getting darker Valentino and Anthia come outside Anthia smiles greeting her daughter and Robin rubbing her belly
"Hello Robin we have heard so much about you" Anthia smiles exclaiming
"Yes we heard all good things about you" Valentino remarks also smiling
"We was learning about your family in school today we was learning about Wanda Valachovic I'd like to learn some more, mum also said I could stay the night if you both was alright with that it's also very nice to meet you both and oh you're having a baby" Robin reels off nervously
"If you wish to stay the night we can't say no to that but make sure you do sleep and make sure you don't be too noisy and ahh you want to learn more about Wanda Valachovic well we can give you as much information as you need" Valentino remarks smiling
Valenthia sighs in relief silently, Robin texts his mum to say that he was going to stay at Valenthia's for the night his mum called Robin, Robin answered
"Hi Mum"
"Hello sweetheart can you pass me over to Valenthia's mother or father please?" Maria asks
"Of course" Robin holds out the phone to Valentino or Anthia and states "My mum wants to talk to one of you"
Valentino takes the phone as Anthia went to find a drink Valentino speaks clearly
"This is Valentino to whom am I speaking to?"
"This is Maria Robin's mother I was wondering if you needed me to bring Robin some pjamas or do you have some at yours already?"
"I am sure I can find some but thank you for the kind offer Maria is there anything else I can help with?" Valentino exclaims with a smile
"Yes can you ensure that Robin comes to school with Valenthia" Maria asks concerned
"Absolutely Maria I will ensure that Robin and Valenthia both go to school tomorrow morning" Valentino replies before handing back the phone to Robin Robin puts the phone back to his ear
"Hey Mum it's me again Valentino I mean Mr Youngblood passed the phone back to me" Robin remarks still a bit hesitant
"No problem sweetheart I will see you tomorrow I love you and stay safe any problems you call me alright sweetheart" Maria smiles replying
"I love you too Mum and I will" Robin also replies smiling "Night Mum"
"Night sweetheart" Maria replies hanging up
Robin pockets his phone smiles at them all and states happily
"Thank you all for having me to stay"
"You are very welcome" Valentino responds smiling
"Come on I will show you my room I will also get you some of the books about my aunt Wanda" Valenthia smiles linking her arm with Robin and takes him upstairs to her room then runs down goes to the library grabs the few books she had got out and runs back upstairs with them Draken watching the boy and keeps as still as he can Draken almost jumps when Valenthia bursts into the room with the few books that she had grabbed and dropping them on her bed Valenthia sits down next to Robin, Robin looks at Valenthia shocked at the amount of books she put on the bed he exclaims
"Are these all about Wanda?"
"Well from what my mother said these books are about Wanda and about my family so these could help with our research for our homework"
"Indeed it shall be" Robin states then asks "Do we need to start on it tonight?"
"No, No of course not I mean if you did wish to start on it tonight we can but if you don't that's absolutely fine" Valentia exclaims smiling
Robin smiles as he settles on the bed he looks around the room he smiles
"So this is a standard room then? I prefer my batstas"
Valenthia laughed hearing this looking at Robin she nods smiling and exclaims
"Yes this is a standard room and well maybe I'll get some bats might even get some live ones"
At this statement Valenthia and Robin fall about laughing, Valentino and Anthia hear the laughing from downstairs they are now pleased that Valenthia has found a friend but they still worry about if he knows what they are or what could happen if he ever did find out about them being vampires especially if they read too much of the books while doing their research for the school, they also worry that Robin could make Valenthia an outcast of that whole village like what happened to Wanda but they decide that they will let it play out and see what happens and whether this would be detrimental for Valenthia or if it will be beneficial for her it is after all the twenty first centuary perhaps villages have changed since when they had to leave Transylvania, perhaps Vampires are now accepted nowadays Valentino and Anthia snuggle up together in front of the fire listening to her daughter and Robin laughing they smile letting the evening play out knowing that their daughter is happy and at ease with her new friend, Anthia smiles rubbing her belly knowing that time will tell.
