The World Beyond The Gate Part 2

                  That night while Valenthia is asleep she starts to have terrible dream, she is sitting in the school next to Robin when her eyes start bleeding suddenly her fangs come out she looks at Robin and starts biting him and the rest of the class scream and runs out the teacher throws a stake at Valenthia turning her to dust. It is at that point Valenthia wakes up sweating and shaking she looks over to the corner of the room where her stuffed advisor that is a stuffed dog that has been brought back to life with magic the dog who's name is Draken who can also talk thanks to the mystical powers goes over to her and lays by her asking
''Valenthia what is wrong?''
''oh Drak I had a terrible dream I had a dream that I had bitten the boy I go to school with and that the teacher was a slayer what could this mean?''
''I believe that it means you are starting to experience your vampire powers and if indeed you are having dreams like this it is your body telling you that you are ready to become a vampire'' Draken reasons with Valenthia.
''So I'm gonna bite Robin and drain the only friend I have?'' Valenthia asks tearing up
''no mistress Valenthia you haven't even got your fangs yet you have a few years yet before you get your fangs please do not worry'' draken reassures her putting his head against her shoulder to comfort her the only way a dog could do, Valenthia puts her arm around draken and lays down draken exclaims to her
'' rest mistress Valenthia I will not leave your side tonight you need your rest as you have school in the morning''
Valenthia nods knowing draken is right so she lays down again and falls asleep.
                                                                Valenthia wakes up a few hours later having only slept about two hours the same dream haunting her over and over trying to find a way to stop what she was doing but every scenario ended the same way with her being staked by her teacher for what she was, not realising that during the night she had kicked Draken off the bed with quite a force Draken had awoken to it but knew it wasn't her fault so he had laid by her bedside worried for his owner that cared for him, Valenthia realised she was sweating she wiped the sweat off her brow and looked around for Draken wondering if he had gone out the room she gets up and goes to stand when Draken licks her foot causing Valenthia to jump out of her skin she looked down seeing Draken she sighed in relief and asked concerned
"Sorry Draken I didn't see you down there, how comes you are down there?"
"Well Mistress Valenthia you kicked me out of the bed while you were sleeping if you could call it sleeping Mistress you seemed quite distressed"
"Oh my goodness I'm sorry Draken it was that horrible dream again I was thinking of ways to get out of that scenario and one of them must have involved fighting I do apologise" Valenthia tells Draken feeling a lot of remorse for what she did to her dearest friend and confidant
"Not to worry Mistress Valenthia I know that it isn't your fault nor that you would wish harm on me and I am not hurt I promise" Draken reassures her standing up and nuzzling her hand to reassure her, Valenthia strokes Draken's head pleased to be reassured that she hadn't hurt Draken nor that she meant to harm him Valenthia then gets changed from her pjamas into her school uniform and heads downstairs to greet her parents before they go to their coffins for the day while she goes to school
"Morning mother, morning father"
"Morning Valenthia how did you sleep my little bat?" Valentino asks a little concerned seeing the slightly dark circles underneath her eyes
"Not so good father I had a bad dream, I had a dream that I bit my friend that I go to school with and then the teacher was a slayer and staked me" Valenthia exclaims still upset about her dream
"Oh my little bat you had your first vampire dream that's encouraging" Valentino states, Anthia shoots him a look that could kill as Anthia saw Valenthia's upset look Valentino then also sees Valenthias look and asks as comfortingly he can  "But I am sorry to hear you had such a terrible dream is there anything we can do little bat?"
"There's not a lot you can do papa I am sure I will be fine I must go to school" Thia exclaims
"Of course but breakfast first little bat" Valentino replies kissing his daughter on her head before heading to his coffin pondering if he could help his daughter, Anthia also kisses her daughter on the head taking a blood bag with her to her coffin hoping that they can help her, John gives Valenthia something to eat then takes her to school.
                                                                        Once Valenthia gets to school and settles into her class once more she wonders why she's been having those dreams and then as Robin sits beside her it dawns on her why she glances at her friends neck where the vein appears to be throbbing before her eyes as if beckoning her to bite into his skin and drink from him Valenthia glances back down to her desk thinking to herself 'why am I thinking this about my friend why am I having this urge to drink from my friend I'm only ten I shouldn't be having this yet' as these thoughts swim around in Valenthia's head she hadn't realised that Mrs Taylor had walked in but soon Valenthia was brought back to reality when Mrs Taylor cleared her throat and stated as loud as she could with a soothing and calming voice
"Valenthia Youngblood is there something interesting on your desk?"
Valenthia looks up and replies back
"No Mrs Taylior I was lost in my thoughts I apologise I didn't realise you had come in"
"It's alright Valenthia I have put a maths problem on the board do you think you could solve it?"
"I can try" Valenthia replies nervous but glad to have been pulled out of her thoughts also glad to have been distracted from Robins neck wishsing she didn't have these urges already she stands up and walks over to the board and starts looking at the maths problem and writes the answer on the board Mrs Taylor smiles then takes the board pen from Valenthia and states
''Almost Valenthia I am impressed you did forget to carry the one but other than that almost spot on well done I am proud of you go take your seat''
Valenthia goes and sits back down next to Robin pleased something was sticking in her head albeit maths she looked at Robin smiling the urge now ebbed away as if it was all a dream.
                    Later that day the school day finished Robin invited Valenthia to his house with his parents permission, Mr and Mrs Taylor agreed so Valenthia asked John who agreed but said he would pick her up at seven by the latest, Valenthia agreed that that time would be best. Robin, Valenthia Mr and Mrs Taylor walk to theirs and takes Valenthia inside Robin takes Valenthia up to his room once she steps inside she finds herself surprised when she sees vampire bats, pictures of vampires and other various items to do with vampires and supernatural elements, Valenthia looks at Robin and asks
''You know about Vampires?''
''Of course, mum and dad don't approve but I have always been fascinated by them that and other supernatural beings''
Valenthia relaxes glad to have found someone she can be herself around but she dare not tell him the truth about what she really is, Mrs Taylor comes in with blackcurrant squash and some cakes she states a little concerned
''Robin can't you take these bats and vampire stuff down surely it's making your new friend uncomfortable''
''Actually Mrs Taylor I don't mind I'm not uncomfortable at all I find it rather soothing and interesting'' Valenthia exclaims with a smile
''See mum she finds it interesting'' Robin replies with a grin
''Very well, I have brought you up some blackcurrant juice and a few cakes enjoy'' Mrs Taylor replies with a smile
''Thank you'' Robin and Valenthia state with a smile,Mrs Taylor leaves the room with a little chuckle glad Robin has found someone who can put up with his strange tastes but also concerned hoping none of this will affect his school work still she thought that this was at least a step in the right direction and that Robin is at least making a normal friend, little did Mrs Taylor know that Robin was in fact making friends with a vampire.
                                                               Later that night Valenthia returns home where her mother and father are now awake, her father looks a little disgruntled Valenthia goes over and sits down at the table to eat her dinner she looks at her father and asks
"what's wrong father?"
"You went to a breather's house! if this breather found out what you was or what we are what do you think would happen the whole village would be at our door" Valentino states very unhappy with his daughters actions Anthia nods to agree Valentino continues "This breather is not your friend he is meant to be what we eat to sustain ourselves"
Valenthia starts to feel anger rising up through her as her father berates her Valenthia stands up slamming her hands on the table and shouts
"He is not just some breather, he is not just food to me he is someone who actually likes vampires and he doesn't know what I am because I didn't tell him what I am I'm not as stupid as you think Father" As Valenthia shouts the cutlery starts to shake on the table and raise up "I wouldn't tell my friend that I am vampire and should he ever figure it out I would never let him do anything to our family!"
As Valenthia finishes her sentance the knife goes flying and sticks into the chair just above her fathers head Valenthia brings her hand up to her mouth then looks at her hands wondering how she did that Anthia looks worried then speaks up
"Oh my dear Thia it seems something from your ancestors did show after all, your great Aunt Wanda had magic it seems she passed it on to you"
"I didn't mean to do that I got angry I'm sorry" Valenthia replies upset with herself
"It's alright my dear little bat I am sorry I shouldn't have been so mad at you" Valentino responds pulling the knife out of the chair that could have very well been his head then continues "If you are sure this friend of yours would keep our secret then I believe you but I sure hope you know what you are doing little bat"
"Yes father I promise you that I do" Valenthia leaves the room with Draken as he also saw what she did Valenthia is a little shaky after what she did it is then she decides to research about her Great Aunt Wanda she goes into the family's library that her dad added a few years ago Draken follows her Valenthia gets all the books down that she can and starts to read all the books, ho mrs later Valenthia had fallen asleep on the books Valentino finds her in the library on top of the books asleep he smiles softly picks her up and carries her up to her room feeling bad that he shouted at her earlier he realised that his wife was right she should make her own mistakes and her own decisions she is going to grow up one day and that she's also going to be a vampire he knows that she will one day make the right decision for her and her family he covers his daughter up in her duvet and kisses her head softly then pats the bed so Draken can also climb up onto the bed Draken does just that and curls up to Valenthia, Valentino leaves the room knowing that he will talk to his daughter and wife in the morning before they head to their coffins til then he will let his daughter sleep, Valenthia and Draken fall into a deep sleep and for once it's a restful sleep with no nightmares.
