I waited in my house placing the cards along my table, Jinx would arrive soon and I was going to do my tarot reading. I was excited to have my tarot cards back out after a while of not using them, when I did use them it was to make sure me and my friends would remain out of harm's way. Sometimes I'd do readings on love life, but it's complicated. I have mixed emotions about both Brianna and Jinx. I arranged the cards in an orderly fashion for Jinx's arrival, midnight would come soon.

I continued thinking about my mixed feelings, I remember when I began to feel some kind of spark with Jinx. It was about a year after we had been runaways together, I remember it like it was just the other day.

In the flower field Jinx and I were picking flowers for a potion for me to brew for us, it was a large, beautiful flower field. The sun was brightly shining down on us and I remember we bega to throw flowers at each other as if they were snowballs. I began to chase her after I ran out of flowers and we rushed through the peony's. They were tall pink-purple flowers, I eventually lost her in the maze of fluffy petals, she jumped at me and we fell into poppy flowers. We laughed so hard and then I realized I began to see her differently... She picked a poppy from beside us and put it in my hair. I thought I felt the feeling of butterflies but I remember turning away because I got rosy. Poppy's have been one of my favorite flowers since...

My cat, Batman, hopped down from my table and walked to the door. I figured Jinx was getting ready to walk through.

"Hey Ivy!" Jinx walked through the door, she gave me a friendly wave and crouched down to pet Batman. She rose and walked over to my table and took a seat. I could tell she was nervous from the way she seemed to look at the cards.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked her, she nodded and I proceeded to light candles. I pulled out some amethyst and placed it close to the candles. I pulled out rose quartz and clear quartz and placed them around the cards.

"Well then... let's get started!" I gave Jinx a reassuring look and she seemed to loosen up a bit.

Shuffling the cards for the time I felt needed, I laid out the cards in front of Jinx. She already knew what to do and took her time to pick three. She looked at them for a moment then handed them back to me. I looked upon her chosen cards, and I felt my heart get heavy. Her cards were something different, any other time she had ever done a tarot reading they were usually quite positive.

"You have..." I knew if I told her she would know most of what her future held, "The Devil..." her eyes already began to get wide, I wasn't sure whether or not i should continue or just tell her the most likely outcome. "Okay– dude– we're pretty much screwed, I'm going to give it to you straight. Well, I can't give it to you straight because I'm not but you know what I mean." I tried joking around to lighten the mood but it didn't seem to help. I knew Jinx was in trouble, and I didn't know how to prevent it. "Maybe another card? Just for luck?"

"Yeah that sounds reasonable..." Jinx was shaken up, she knew I meant it when I said we were screwed. She grabbed another card and handed it to me, this one meant love.

"You got the Lovers card," I felt a bit excited about it really, "that's– different." Jinx and I just kind of exchanged awkward glances, it seemed to take our mind off the fact the future was now unpredictable. "Anyways..." I began, "it's getting kind of late, probably around twelve-forty..."

"Yeah..." Jinx got up kind of awkwardly and almost tripped on her chair heading towards the door. I could feel myself getting pink and I noticed she was too. "Let's say that the Lovers card means something... do you think it means soon?" she asked.

"What are you looking to get married to me?" I winked at her, she got a bit more pink and stuttered,

"N-no! I just was- well I- you know what- ha-" She jumbled a bunch of words together and looked like a nervous wreck really. "Jesus Christ- alright Ivy..." she took a few steps towards me and grabbed my hands, "do you want to- I don't know... do something some time?"
