Chapter 2

Luna had already started to get comfy when Smudge had sat down beside her. Smudge always likes to relax with her sisters, and she really enjoys playing games with them. "I'm glad summer is finally here! I may not have the kinda stuff you girls do, since I'm still 9, but this semester was a challenge!" "Yeah! I agree!" Lattè and Smudge had discussed school for a few minutes, and then started talking to Luna. Smudge was bored and kept imagining the clouds as objects...

Suddenly, she spotted something white and sparkly between the fence. The little girl wandered into the nearby trees, as she followed the sparkly thing in the air. It perched on a mushroom. The little girl stopped focusing on the sparkly light, and looked around. "How did I get into the forest?" she had wondered. She gazed at the pretty scenery, and then turned back to the sparkly thing. It looked pretty, and it danced around her in an inviting way."OOoooohh. Pretty! But, what are you, may I ask?" The sparkling light kept dancing around her. Lattè and Luna called out her name as Smudge had seen her two sisters run towards her. She was confused as her sisters were questioning her about where she had been and why she ran away. Luna picked Smudge up, but as soon as she did, the sparkly light zoomed, and touched a trail of rocks. Those rocks lit up, and they were forming a circle around the three girls. A portal appeared under their feet, and they fell right through. Luna grabbed Smudge and pulled her and Lattè close as they fell. Smudge was terrified and remained close to Luna and closed her eyes.

SPLASH! BOOM! The three girls splashed into a lake! They swam up quickly, gasping for air. Smudge gazed sadly at the portal as it had closed, wishing she could fly up there and go back home. "Ladies, ladies! Stay calm! We don't know this place and we don't know if there might be any possible threats!" Luna had tried to assure the girls to stay calm. Meanwhile, Lattè was trying to feel her way to her big teashade gold-rimmed glasses. "Uh, Lattè?" Luna looked at Lattè up and down and then pointed at her head and stuttered in surprise "LOOK AT YOUR BODY!" Lattè looked at her reflection in the river and she screamed. "Why do I have a tail and cat ears?!" Luna panicked "ME TOO! AND SO DOES SMUDGE!" The girls quietly examined their new ears and tails. Lattè's cat ears and tail are the colours of a blue egyptian tabby cat. Luna's are the colours of a common tabby cat. Smudge's are the colours of a calico cat. "okay. Let's explore our surroundings. Maybe someone can tell us if there's a way back home!" The three girls set off to the beginning of their great journey!
