Chapter 32

Mario POV

I've been in this hospital for over 3 hours stressing the hell out. I've heard nothing from the doctors since we got here. Jasmine could be dying for all I fucking know. I can't believe I actually let her get shot. I should have shot Xavier once I saw he had a gun to Jasmine's head.

Everyone has been here since the beginning. Anthony has been pacing the floor since and Jasmine's dad has just been quiet but knowing him, his silence is always deadly. Aniah has balling her eyes out since and Ty is busy consoling her. I don't blame Aniah, this is some sad shit.

"Who would even want to hurt Jasmine out of all people? I know Xavier ain't just grow balls over night and decide to shoot Jasmine." Tyrese said then sighed.

"I'm gonna handle this shit tonight." Jasmine's dad said, standing up.

"Hold up pops. You said it yourself that this nigga is after you so I don't think you should just go and risk your life before you know anything about it. You just came out of hiding and now you to go out and risk your life. What if Jasmine makes it out? Think about how she is gonna feel to find out what you're about to do." Anthony said. That's some true shit.

"Whether it's now or later, I'm going to handle this DeMarcus nigga. His first mistake was trying to kill me. His second mistake was thinking I was dead. His third mistake was coming for my daughter. He's a dead man walking."

Louis ain't playing games but I don't blame him. If I was still in the game, I would have been right next to him ready to kill who's behind this. Now I have to worry about my business, my image, and all that bullshit.

"Don't be sad." Lori said. She cupped my face in her small hands and kisses my nose.

Only she can make me smile at a time like this. She's only 3 so she doesn't know what's really going on. All she knows is that mommy is hurt.

"Daddy is fine. You hungry?" I asked her. She thought about it for a second before nodding her head.

"I got it Mario. I was about to go and get something for Ace." Tammy said. I nodded and placed Lori on the floor. She took Tammy's hand and they walked away.

The waiting room was silent now and it seemed like everyone was trapped in their own thoughts.

"Where is Xavier?" Anthony asked out of nowhere.

"Here is some hospital room. I only brought him here because Jasmine told me to not let him die. Some bullshit." I mumbled the last part.

"Good thing he's not dead. He can give some information as to where DeMarcus is. I need for this process to speed up." Louis said.

"Family of Jasmine Jean." A doctor said, approaching the waiting room.

We all stood up and followed him to a more private area. He flipped through some papers on his clipboard then looked at all of us.

"Well good news is that she is alive and the surgery was successful." he said. It felt like a huge weight was lifted off my heart. "Bad news is that she was not stable throughout the surgery and went in to shock multiple times. Now she is stable but we are not sure for how long."

"What do you mean? So she can go in to shock at anytime?" Aniah asked.

"Well right now she is in a coma. One which we're not sure she will wake up from."

"WHAT?" I yelled taking a step forward. I could snap this doctors neck for even saying those words.

"She did loose a large amount of blood and the bullet was dangerously close to her heart. Good thing is, she is alive."
