That night, we all had dinner together. Yes all, Kyler, Jace, Hayley, and myself. Jace cooked us dinner, which took me by surprise a little, but hey I wasn't complaining about free food.
"How do you girls like it?" Jace asked us with that devilish grin. He already knew we loved it, but I wasn't going to add to his ego. Before I got a chance to say anything, Hayley cut in.
"It's amazing!" She stated shoving her mouth with rice. "Where'd you learn to cook like this?"
"Let's just say he needed to learn how to impress girls when they shot him down," Kyler said with a wink towards me.
Really? I rolled my eyes at that comment. "So Alexis, tell me, how do you like the steak?" Jace said so obviously trying to hit on me. I'm not going to jump into bed with him for making me dinner, I had a little more class than that. I tried to convince myself. I opened up my mouth to give him a piece of my mind, however the door bell rang. Saved by the bell.
"I'll get it," I said with the biggest fake smile on this planet.
I got up from the floor, leaving my plate on the coffee table. We were all sitting in the living room. Kyler and I on the floor with Jace and Hayley on the couch. They all went back to talking.
I heard a knock as I approached the door. Impatient much? I unlocked the top and opened the door to see a face I hadn't expected. Noah. He looked as shock as I was.
"Lexi?" He said it as if he didn't believe it were me. I guess the skeleton is out of the closet. My skeleton. I wanted to keep it in there for as long as possible, until I had been dead for at least 100 years.
"I...I didn't know you'd be here," I stuttered. It was like seeing a ghost except much worse. You thought Hayley's story was bad, trust me you haven't seen anything yet. I looked down at my fingers, suddenly feeling five inches tall. "Why are you here?" I could barely get the words out of my mouth.
"We were going around the complex asking everyone if they wanted to come to a party tonight at our house," he explained. "You don't have to come, unless you want to come."
"Alexis!" I heard Jace yell from the other room. His voice got louder as he asked "Who was at the door?" Suddenly he appeared behind me. He placed an arm around my waist as if to show his territory. "Who are you?"
Noah's eyes followed Jace's arm as it wrapped around my waist. I was too shocked about Noah to even care about Jace and his arm. I watched as Noah just turned around saying nothing, leaving. I had half the mind to yell after him, but the other half told me to let him walk away.
Jace closed the door and looked at me. "Who was that guy?" He basically demanded from me.
I let out a sigh, "that would be summer getting a little more interesting."
I walked straight upstairs to my room saying nothing to anyone after that, just leaving dinner. I opened the door to my room and leaned against the back of the door as it shut. I slid down the back, sitting on the hardwood floor. I could hear them all talking.
"What was that about?" Hayley's voice asked. In worry about me, I guess.
"I don't know. Some guy was at the door," Jace explained. "She didn't even care my arm was around her, it was no fun. She didn't even get pissed."
Ugh. Rude. 'No fun?' Oh, well I could teach him what real fun is, if that's what he wants. I could teach him a lesson about messing with girls.
"You're so insensitive!" I heard Hayley yell at him. "I'm going to go check on her."
"Maybe you should give her space, it sounds like she's upset," Kyler chimed in.
I can't believe Noah is here. I didn't expect him, I thought for sure he'd be in Europe or the Bahamas. Every summer his family would go on some fun trip, not send him to a high school program.
"She's my best friend!" Hayley practically yelled.
"Shh.." Jace said. "She'll hear you. I'll go check on her."
Jace is coming upstairs? Why is he coming upstairs? Wait to my room? It wasn't long before I was hit by my door. I guess I should have moved instead of arguing with myself.
"Shit. You okay?" Jace apologized. I think this was the first that he was actually genuine.
I got off the floor, moving away from the door to let him in. "Yeah I'm fine," I responded with a sigh.
"Really? Cause you didn't seem fine."
"What? Came up here to check on me to see if you could help me in any possible way?" I ran my finger down his chest seductively while I asked him.
"Well... Kind of."
"Then kiss me. You wanted to help me, well shut the door, lock it, and kiss me." He didn't seem to have to think twice about it. He immediately shut the door and I heard the lock click. In the mean time, I started to walk away from the door, towards the bed but he didn't allow me. He grabbed me by my waist and pulled me into him.
I guess all that telling myself I wouldn't fall for the charm flew out the window. Not that I was falling for his charm, I was simply letting him kiss me after the event that occurred tonight.
Instead of kissing me on my lips though, he kissed me along my jaw line. Oh, did it feel good. We walked backwards until my back hit the wall. When he finally had me against it, his lips moved from my jaw, leaving me aching for more kisses like that, to my neck.
I let a moan slip from my lips accidentally, which I guess encouraged him to kiss me. His lips were so incredibly soft and moved with mine. I got so caught up in the moment, I bit his bottom lip, making him groan and grind his waist into mine. He lifted me up, which I took as encouragement to wrap my legs around his waist. He pushed me even more against the wall, but pulled away from our kiss leaving us both panting.
"Why'd you stop?" I asked him. He didn't answer, just walked us over to my bed and set me down. "Jace..?" He kissed me hard and walked out, closing the door behind him.
What was that about? I thought we... Never mind what I thought but that was rude.
