The lights flickered as the big metal tin can shook harshly, whipping its passengers about like crammed sardines in spacesuits, as the shuttle began dock at the young recruits assigned space station. The noise was like thunder as the space station latched to the tiny shuttle, which had several of the young girls squealing in fear or covering their ears. This group of recruits was, awfully young, none more than maybe 20 years of age and almost entirely female. There were only two young men with in the group and they seemed just as nervous as all the girls. Except one.

Zarina was the youngest of the group, having just turned 18 just in time to be selected for this group, with her long wavy red hair tied up in a tight bun and her glistening green eyes that looked at her sad little group of recruits. Though she was youngest, she had been top of her class, awarded metals for willingness to learn and work hard. In fact, she had been the only one who seemed excited for this mission. Others were worried, this space station was not part of the Galaxy S12 group in which they came from. It was a science station that seemed to appear of out no where and had reached out to the central station looking for space cadets to help bring the station back online into full functioning capability. The Captain of the central station and his crew looked into it and concluded that the space station was legit after a few visits with the crew of the new space station they now deemed "Space station 13"

There was a loud metallic whining noise as the shuttle settled into dock, sighs of relief and the sound of safety belts being unbuckled filled the cramped hull. " Thank god that is over" said one girl, " I cant wait to get off this death trap" whine another. "Out of the way, I'm getting off this this damn thing first" Barked the makeup caked blonde who seemed to think she was better than everyone else. Zarina hated that girl with such passion, that she often thought of luring her to air lock and hitting the button to have her sucked into space so none had to deal with her ridiculous nonsense any further. Of course, she'd never actually do that, wasn't professional, she had to remind herself.

Soon the mechanical whirring chimed as the doors slowly slid open to a very white and pristine docking port. Everything looked clean, bright and immaculate, nothing at all like the Station they had come from. Not like their station had been dirty or anything, but this place looked how one might imagine heaven to look like. Though perhaps it was just all the bright white lights that was almost blinding as they all filled into the space station with their belongings and stood in a row in the spacious docking station.

"Welcome Recruits" came a voice over a loud speaker. " We are so glad to have you here with us at Space Station 13. You have all been chosen to work here with us because each of you has a special trait or ability that we require to bring this place back to life." The group all looked around at the open empty room, no one had come to greet them aside from the voice on the overhead, it seemed a bit strange and many of the girls were talking about just that. On the table ahead of you, you will find a folder with your name and room number on it. Inside this folder will be an introduction to our facility and a description of your soon to be job on our station. But First," the voice paused as some of the girls were eager to get to their rooms and had already headed to the table to look for their folders. " you may be wondering why there is no one to greet you." Indeed many were wondering and were getting a bit nervous about it. " We have encountered many vistors to our facility to have contracted a parasite on their travels to our station and we do not wish to infect the rest of the crew. Therefore, each and everyone of you will be examine by our doctor before access to the rest of the facility and the crew."

A Parasite? Each of them had a physical before even leaving their own station, had they had any kind of ailment they would not have been sent on this mission. It didn't seem to make sense but considering it was a science station and already seeming to have had and outbreak they were just being extra cautious. " Please find your folders and proceed through the doors on your right. There you will find the hall to your dorm rooms. Please stay in your room till your name is called to the med bay. Thank you again for joining the crew here at Space Station 13." The speaker clicked as the announcer signed off.

There was a lot of chatter from the group as they all shuffled off to the table to grab their folders. Some of the girls giggled with excitement as they found they had rooms next to each other, others complained about how they couldn't leave their rooms and explore. The two young men, typical of their sex, were discussing how to sneak out and go take a look around. Zarina just rolled her eyes then dug through the pile of folders to find hers. It Seemed her room was at the very end of the hall. One girl peeped over at her folder and laughed, "they must not think much of you, seeing as they put you down there" Zarina scoffed and shrugged her shoulders. It didn't bother her none, these girls were ditzy and childish, which made no sense why they had even been picked for this mission at all. A room at the end of the hall meant little interaction with the others to her, so she was fine with it. She grabbed her bags and she headed down the hall to her room. It had a key pad, she typed in the code that was given to her in the details of her folder, and hurried off into her room.

As the door closed she leaned her back against the cool metal door and sighed a sigh of relief. "Finally, silence."
