"I placed my ear against the rough wooden door in an attempt to hear their conversation, when suddenly the door gave way and I went tumbling into the room"

"So why are we not allowed in?"
"Because this is an envoy from Calormen," Peter grunts with clenched teeth. I grab his hand but he dodges it and turns around, his gaze is troubled. "Su, I don't want them to see you or Lucy,"
What?
"Peter, I do not understand," Lucy speaks up, her blonde curls tumbling from her shoulders. Her silver crown shines in the light of the midday sun. I look to my older brother once again. He is frowning, he bites on the inside of his lip. "Because the last time someone from Calormen came and knew about Susans beauty. He tried to kidnap her!"
O dear Aslan.
"Pete, that was thirteen hundred years ago!" I hiss with clenched teeth, my irritation even more growing. "Peter" Lucy tries again. "This is not Rabadash. And besides we were grown women back then. Now we are just kids once more,"
"No and that is the final say" My brother barks as he turns around once again and stamps down the corridor. "Sorry girl, High king orders" Edmund shrugs and grins sheepishly.
"Caspian. You say something!" Lucy crosses her arms. "To be honest, I agree with Peter"
"That's only because Susan is your fiancé" My sister fires back. "True," The Seafarer king answers. "We are late for the meeting! See you at dinner girls" Edmund claps his friend's shoulder and they both turn and walk down the corridor.

We watch them go as I hear Lucy next to me grunt in irritation. "Men" She mutters angrily. I laugh at her reaction. "Come on," I hold out my hand and she takes it. "We listen, like we always did when the boys didn't us there"
Quickly we walk through the light corridor towards the doors of the Throne room. They are decorated with engraved wood sculptures - sculptures of Mr. Tumnus, Mr and Mrs beaver, Aslan, Us, the Lantern.
"You listen;" Lucy whispers as she looks around, afraid we will get caught. But there are always maids and guards and just people walking through Cair. But I have to admit this view of the two queens listening is maybe a bit weird.
They are used to us being weird.
I place my ear against the rough wooden door in an attempt to hear their conversation, but suddenly the door gives way and I tumble into the Throne room. The marble floor felt cold as I went face first to the floor. I hear the gasps of the men and when I look at my fiancé and brothers, I see two of them smile sheepishly and the other has his hand against his forehead. "Hello," I say, a bit ashamed as Lucy helps me quickly up from the floor. I slip almost over my blue dress but I can steady myself. I look around the throne room, familiar faces just smirk at us but the envoy of Calormen stares at me and the youngest man pulls at his clothes and straightens his shoulders and his chin. "Uhm," Caspian quickly states. "May I introduce Queen Susan the Gentle" I nod. "And Queen Lucy the Valiant" My sister nods as well. "The history books spoke the truth about your legendary beauty Queen Susan" The youngest speaks up. I say the faces of my fiancé and brothers turn dark and I just hear the growls. "Thank you," I say as I and Lucy quickly walk to our thrones. But the moment I walk past them I feel their eyes in my back.
