Chapter 12: Her Dark Conundrum

I imagine there are some surprises that this story updated again.

Writing more stories, I realized that going back and forth between different stories can get a bit confusing. So I decided to work on large chunks at a time rather than small pieces of each story.

For now, I want to finish the [Fire Dragon] arc (Volume 2) before going to my other stories.

Also, there were some small edits here and there in this story. Those changes were small context clues that I scattered around that can help infer who Hajime really is. Remember, he is no longer Ren Fuji, but rather a COMPLETELY new character.

Now that the sun was set, the Northern part of Little Garden was enveloped in a shadowy border. The moonlight shined into the red walls of the city, with only a huge chandelier as the road sign, flickering with it's lights. The evil spirits and the Rakshasa demons that resides in this town that just turned night, started waking up.

Within a certain hallway of the center castle, several figures emerged.

The side characters aside, Hajime and Kuro Usagi were being forcefully taken away by several men.

Well... 'forcefully' isn't the best term to use. Having slightly above average chains and soldiers with low-level [Gifts] were nowhere near enough in containing the two.

The only reason that neither of the [No Name] members tried to escape was to prevent antagonizing the [Salamandra] Community. In reality, they were basically just following Mandra by choice.

This is further proven when Hajime was half dragged here when he fell asleep a couple of times. It took quite a while, but he was now awake enough to properly think, something he was doing exactly now.

"Something wrong Hajime-san?"

The boy turned to the blue-haired rabbit, whispering towards him.

"?"

Seeing his confusion, she elaborated.

"You were constantly looking down, not paying attention. It seemed as if you were thinking about something."

"......"

A black aura appeared inside the left pocket of Hajime. Then almost immediately after, an object shot out inside it, causing the soldiers (side characters) to be on guard.

"Don't try anything [No Name]!" Mandra declared. 

One tried to poke Hajime with a fiery spear, but the boy didn't resist much to everyone's surprise. 

Like stated before, these [Gifts] were completely pointless in front of them. But there were different reasons to it. In Kuro Usagi's case, the spear was harmless as she could simply avoid it. But in Hajime's case, he simply tanked the attack without a hint of pain or damage.

Realizing that, the soldier tried to poke harder, slowly increasing strength. Soon, his body began to shake as he was nearly going all out. But for some reason, the spear wouldn't go any further. It's as if the spear didn't affect Hajime at all.

But back to the main point, the object floated in front of everyone; the closest among them was Kuro Usagi.

"It's just... something doesn't seem right."
