"I can't stop the clock from ticking it's only the beginning."
"Isn't this child slavery?" Wesley questions, scooping vanilla ice cream into a cone. Steve; his "manager." As he likes to say turns around, his eyebrows raised. He shoots Wesley a glance towards the three girls entering the scoops Ahoy shop; signaling for him to stop talking.
Wesley hands the ice cream off to a small girl, she takes it and hands him a handful of dimes and quarters. Sighing to himself he slides the money into the cash register and leans against the counter; watching with a pained expression as Steve tries to work his love magic.
"Hello ladies." Steve says smiling, it looks as though he wants it to be charming but it comes off as creepy; holding onto it for too long or too wide Wesley isn't sure. He cringes for Steve as he tries to recover quickly.
"What'll it be?" He questions, throwing his hands towards the ice cream on either side of him. A girl with long auburncoiled hair reaching past her shoulder wearing a red and white striped shirt laughs at him as do her friends.
The auburn haired girl begins to speak, "Nevermind. Isn't there a better place downstairs." She throws her head towards her friends who all nod eagerly. Steve opens his mouth to speak but they walk away before he gets the chance to speak.
"Smooth, what's that now zero?" Robin laughs loudly from behind you, holding up a whiteboard counting how many people actually liked him as he spoke to them.
Steve looks over at her angrily, "Hey! Since when was this a game." Robin laughs, almost too loudly. "Its funny right Wes?"
Wesley shrugs, unconscious of his response as he gazes out towards the inside of the Mall. Just then, almost on cue Dustin swings around the corner, walkie talkie hanging off his hip like a seasoned gunslinger. His Camp Nowhere hat hanging off his curly hair. He steps inside, recoiling only for a moment before he adjusts to the cold.
"Dustin, what's up?" Wesley says, smiling. He approaches, showing his pearly whites to the three of you. "Were those three girls laughing at you or him?" Dustin questions, looking between you and Steve.
Wesley smirks, casting a glance at Steve before throwing his thumb towards Steve. "Who else? I'm too smooth for those three." Dustin laughs, not so at Wesley but more at Steve for his non-charming of the ladies.
Movement from outside Scoops Ahoy draws Wesley's attention from Dustin as he begins to speak, two girls, one with short brown hair that draws most of his attention skips together with another girl having short red hair. The brown haired girl shows a confidence Wesley had never seen before.
They skip together up to the cash register where Wesley stands, Dustin and Steve begin to argue, ignoring the two cute girls to their left. Wesley is mostly taken aback by the cute brown haired girl until they speak in a hushed whisper.
"I told you didn't I?" The red haired girl says to her friend in a hushed whisper. They both turn back to Wesley laughing lightly, the brown haired girl blushing slightly. Wesley follows her lead, mind stumbling over what to say. "Two Vanilla ice creams please?" They both ask in unison, Wesley quickly nods and grabs the scooper.
Steve and Dustin finally notices the two girls standing at the cash register. Steve raises an eyebrow, "Are you even allowed out?" He questions, The girl nods and Steve continues his argument with Dustin and Robin over girls.
Wesley scoops the Vanilla into a single ice cream cone and place it onto the counter. The red haired girl glances down at your name tag and smiles, "Wesley right?" She says, but continues to speak. Wesley raises his eyes up to the two girls nervously.
"Mouth breather?" The brown haired girl asks her friend. The red haired girl responds with a quick shake of her head. "You wanna hang out?" The red haired girl asks.
Wesley smiles, "Uh, sure- I mean if she's okay with it. I get off in like ten anyways."
Wesley scoops the final Vanilla cream into the cone and hands it to the brown haired girl. "It's free, my dad owns the store anyway." He says laughing, the two girls laugh aswell, leaning against the counter as they speak.
"I'm Max, she's El, short for Eleanor." The girl nicknamed El nods quickly, showing her teeth as she smiles.
Max smiles too, looking between the two of you. "Ready to have some fun the two of you?" She questions with a mischievous look in her eyes.
The two of them quickly nod, sneaking our from behind the counter Wesley reaches the door to Scoops Ahoy before Steve notices. "Hey! Where are you going Wesley?!" He yells.
Wesley twists around quickly, cupping his hands. "I'll be back!" Laughing, he runs off with the two girls. Wondering how coincidental this entire meeting was.
"First stop is the movies right?" Max questions, looking between the two of them through the mass of never ending passing bodies.
Wesley smirks, "Of course. Where else?"
